When we were choosing design options for the new house we were having built 16 years ago, we chose door latches rather than door knobs because of my MS. Mr. Johnathon T. Fuzzibutt, Adventure Cat loved the fact he could open every door inside the house by standing on his hind legs and pulling down on the latch. Except he always avoided actually opening one door: the pantry door. For the past 10 years and 2 months, he knew all he had to do was just rattle it a little and a human would come and get him a plastic grocery bag to lick (yeah, his obsession), or perform the magic trick that made the hole in the center of his kibble dish disapear. But in the last two weeks, he's decided he's just gonna open that pantry door for himself, and . . . . "Ooooo! /there's all kinds of interesting things in that dark room !" he'd think.

Oh, he definately knows how to play the "Adorable" card. Especially right after he's over-played the "Pain in the Hiny" card.
i had a cat that also obcess over plastic,they say it calms their nerves,one day I was goin to paint a room and I put out a roomsize drop cloth,i thought that cat was going to have a nervous breakdown!
I have one that eats plastic so we have to make sure that's put away. He also likes purses...
But why is it a male cat thing? I've met others who have said the same thing--their cats were obsessed about licking plastic bags and they'd say it was their male cats. I had another male cat before Johnathon, and he'd drive me nuts with his constant licking of plastic grocery bags. My female didn't lick bags or plastic other things.

Maybe you can tell me? How do I reset the clock on my daughter's cat, which she left many years ago to move to Florida, and it has since been replaced with a dog. Anyway, how do you reset the clock on the cat? At exactly 3PM central time, it will non-stop start crying for it's dinner pate. Not 2:59, Not 3:01. And if no-one is home at 3:00, boy will it get pissed!
Is there a reset somewhere where I can just turn off this feature?
Their clocks are like the Atomic Clock, I think. Can't be reset. I'm still looking for the HUMAN snooze button on Mr. Johnathon T. Fuzzibutt, Adventure Cat. He's got the feline snooze button, so he can snooze. I can't.
Mr Fuzzibutt has finally figured that he no longer needs to wait for you for food and treats, CrazyCatWom ? You no longer have the upper paw! Oh, dear! 
cats are nocternal,mine is bright eyed and busytailed at 2 or 3 ami keep poking him awake at 7 am by poking him when i walk by
LOL! That's what I did this morning! I got up and was reaching for my cane when I heard a paper crinkling sound. I looked behind the recliner I sleep in (haven't slept in a bed since June 2018). Saw big eyes blinking at me. I said, "Good morning, Alarm Clock!"
