Done with Ocrevus Infusion

My infusion went well yesterday. It was a 4-hour stay from start to finish. No reactions, just couldn't go to sleep last night. It was about 2:30 am when I fell asleep. At 5:15 my dog woke me up wanting outside. It was his usual time not realizing that I hadn't had any sleep! Animals are so regimented, and he keeps me on a schedule, his! It's ok though, it's good to be on a schedule cuz it helps to keep my mind from going off-kilter (too much).

Now I'm waiting to see how this dose of Ocrevus reacts, if any, to my new thyroid medication. I will know if I start having A-fib and then a blood test within the next 2 weeks.

Glad it went well. I’m sorry about the lack of sleep.

Thanks. The lack of sleep was to be expected so I used that time to do some of the things I didn't get done while I was gone. I'm the communications director on our Liones Club and I had some ads that I had to get done for FB and update the web page. I basically just swapped rest time.

Nope, it wouldn't. And so far I haven't had any A-fib, and it's been 2 days since infusion. YEAH!!!

So happy that your infusion is done, hairbrain4 Yes, I usually don't have a restful night the day of the infusion, but I usually settle in to me normal (whatever normal is) after the first night. Keep Smiling :-D

I'm now getting the routine down on infusion day. They don't give that much of the steroids to bother me too much. Nothing like an infusion of steroids.

Glad everything went well for you hairbrain4 Somtimes when I have had to have steroids, I could still sleep, others not so much. Steroids also give energy to do stuff around the house or work such as what you needed to get done ;)

I used to react to them the same way. I would get so much done after having a 3-day infusion of steroids. The last time I had to have that done it made me swell up like a water balloon. I felt like I was sloshing around with every step. No energy either. It was strange. i have noticed that If I stay hydrated especially before steroid infusions I don't get the swelling. I'm thinking hydration makes a difference in a lot of things. On my 2nd full dose of Ocrevus, it took 7 sticks before they got it right. I had been dehydrated. That was when I also had a lot of swelling. Since then I have made sure I'm hydrated and no problems, they get it with the 1st stick and no swelling afterward.

The lack of sleep improves after high dose steroid is out of my system. I get an upset digestive track and some lymph gland tenderness in the back of head and under chin and then feel fine after a week. Hope there are no drug interactions

Through the past 15 years since I was diagnosed, I have become more sensitive to steroids. I sometimes get a lot of water retention in my feet and ankles and no sleep for 24 hrs. Other times it's just no sleep for 12 hrs. I don't know why the differences.

I hate steroids because everything tastes like metal for a long time after. I live on peppermints which seem to be the only thing that will break through that taste.

That's one thing I haven't experienced. Hope I never do!

I think the problem I had last time was a reaction to my thyroid medication. I'm on a different now.
