hello

Has anyone ever used hyperbaric chamber for MS. Was it successful? Did you like it? Would you do it again? How did it make you feel?

Thanks in advance

Jenny

Hyperbaric Chambers, what a blast from the past! I remember shortly after being diagnosed many decades ago, my parents, now long gone, at first heard about this, as someone or some people thought this was a cure for M.S., or at least it could help. It was really, really expensive back then. So I waited and watched. Asked my doctors, none thought much of it, but I continued to watch for maybe a decade more. Finally set all thoughts of that aside, as nearly everything pointed to it being great for some things, like the bends, though I hadn't dived in many years, but for M.S., nothing really to support that, even though it seemed to be a craze for people with M.S. looking for help or a cure.

I just saw an amazingly cheap Groupon deal, along with facials, massages, and colon hydrotherapy? The hyperbaric chamber sessions are being sold as a relaxation thing? And so cheap, less than a tenth the cost of a doctor's visit! From so expensive, and very limited availability even in Chicagoland, back then I found one major hospital in the city, to now a recreational thing? We can do MRI's as a recreational thing, and give your neuro some info too? I did get a session in a cryotherapy tank as a gift a couple years ago. As I expected, refreshing, but short lived. Good for about a day? Had one before while working in an operating blast freezer maybe a decade earlier. Loved that too!

No, I never tried a hyperbaric chamber treatment. Nor did I ever get the bends diving. I always took decompression diving and leaving enough time to prevent it very seriously. AND was lucky enough to never have had an equipment or other accident that deep underwater to ever actually need such treatment.

But, for the price of a couple movies, though I wouldn't recommend them either these days with Covid, go for it? But for M.S.? I, who firmly believes what food you put in your mouth has the biggest impact on your M.S. health than anything else, I might be thought of as crazy too? But I, though not cured, I am very much better, as my doctors who treated me for decades also say.

I have known several people who have done hyperbaric treatment for wounds and frostbite and has worked wonders. Also good result with people that have asthma. Haven’t really known anyone using it for ms treatment? Ken 🐾🐾

I have.

A few people commented on my improved mental clarity.Uhhhh,thanks.😂

I felt pretty good after the series of treatments and might do it again someday.

It is expensive and if one is expecting a miracle, they might be disappointed.

Also, I was being pretty strict with my diet too so I am sure it contributed to my well being.

As a side note, I had a deep cut on my foot at the time that healed up lightning fast .

One thing is for certain - we do need oxygen. I have been getting it daily at home. My former functional neurologist wanted me to do his new hyperbaric chamber, but it's very expensive and time-consuming. So I bought this oxygen machine for home.

I follow a fellow MSer on Instagram that swears by it but I have never tried it myself. I would definitely give it a go if I had the chance.

Thank you everyone for your responses. I asked neurologist today and he said nothing was proven on it yet and it could hurt your lungs. Ugh
