Christopher, that's yuk. Glad I don't use it. When I was a little girl I was horse/pony mad. Someone told me that they made soap out of horses, well my mum could not get me to use soap, I even lied I told her I was allergic to it, which came back on me later on in life when they started putting strong perfumes in it. I am going to tell my daughter that and see if it changes her make up habits, thanks Jimeka

What about lip gloss GasLight ? And why fish scales, what purpose do they serve? Just curious, don't use lip stick but sometimes lip gloss.

Apparently, the answer to your first question is "Yes" -- most lip gloss also does contain fish scales.

It appears that fish scales are added to cosmetics (such as lipstick and nail polish) to give them the same shimmering appearance which is seen in fish. The ground up scales are called ‘pearl essence’ or ‘pearlescence’ on the ingredients list.
