Impressive! My county hospital is the only Level 1 Trama Center in NM, but also covers parts of Mexico, AZ, UT, CO, OK, and . . . oh! West TX! ;) (It has also been MY home away from home, and where my neurologist runs around like a mother duck, followed by four or five ducklings, as it is also the only teaching hospital in NM).

So was the hospital JPS? We used to live in Arlington back in the 90's. My husband got to bring in the new year 1995 at that hospital.

It was a good hospital back then too. That is if you could make it from the parking structure to the hospital without getting shot. It was pretty rough back then. They actually saved my husband's life though. The doctor gave him about 3 months before he would have kidney failure & probably die soon after. But they had an experimental surgery they were doing on the renal artery. He put a stint in. It's now a routine surgery. They did the same surgery on 3 other people that week and 2 of them died. But my husband is still kicking!

Yes, FWPD has cleared up a lot of areas that used to be dangerous but aren’t anymore.

There is not one best hospital in the nation. Hospitals are usually ranked according to their various specialties--like pediatrics, cardiology, interventional radiology, etc., and all sorts of polls and organizations do rankings. Look at U.S. News and World Report: U.S. News 2019-20 Best Hospitals Honor Roll

1. Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota

2. Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston

3. Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore

4. Cleveland Clinic

5. New York-Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia and Cornell, New York

6. UCLA Medical Center, Los Angeles

7. UCSF Medical Center, San Francisco

8. Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles

9. NYU Langone Hospitals, New York

10. Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago

11. University of Michigan Hospitals-Michigan Medicine, Ann Arbor

12. Stanford Health Care-Stanford Hospital, Stanford, California

13. Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston

14. Mount Sinai Hospital, New York

15. UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside, Pittsburgh

16. Keck Hospital of USC, Los Angeles

17. University of Wisconsin Hospitals, Madison

18. (tie) Hospitals of the University of Pennsylvania-Penn Presbyterian, Philadelphia

18. (tie) Mayo Clinic-Phoenix

20. (tie) Houston Methodist Hospital
