This is my name Martez, I am a person who has progressive M.S and I had a bill here in Tennessee amended in 2021. I still drive my car with no hand device. So I will work as hard as I can to get a bill like this in every state of the U.S.A. I just need people to advocate with me,so others with a disability who drives their car or van will not have fear if ordered by the police officer or first responders needing help to get out of their vehicle. I want to come to your state, city or county. May Peace Be Upon Us All

Thanks for reading this post.
Thank you for putting forth the time, hard work, and effort to get this bill passed. There is absolutely no logical reason this shouldn't be passed in every state. My concern has always been; if I were ever pulled over during a traffic stop or if I was in an accident and had to exit or was asked to step out of my vehicle by law enforcement, I would be accused of being intoxicated. There is no possible way I could pass a field sobriety test and would be arrested on the spot even after passing a breathalyzer test. In the end, hopefully it would all be resolved, but that would be after several months of unnecessary stress from being arrested, handcuffed, put in the back of the police car, carried to jail, money for attorney fees, time spent in court, time and effort getting the DMV to correct the accident report stating that I was intoxicated and at fault. Ect...
Not gonna lie. Thats been a huge fear of mine since diagnosis. Not to mention the fear of over heating in the process since I live in Arizona.
Thank you for joining the My MSAA Community, Martez, and again for sharing this about advancing disability rights in Tennessee!
