My hubby wants to take me on a short trip to the coast, but was concerned about how well I could walk any distances. He said he felt like my world was becoming too small, and he wants me to share as much as possible with him. He had me investigate some wheelchairs, and I found this one:
I received it yesterday, lifted it out of the box easily by myself, and put it together in about 2 minutes. I think this will be great! Merry Christmas, happy birthday, happy anniversary, ...!

I am so happy for you!!!! You have so much Summer to enjoy. Enjoy your trip. I wondered if it came in purple too. jimeka Thanks for the question. You were reading my mind. Have so much fun.
It's the right solution. We bought a travel wheelchair, and it allowed my husband and me to travel in many remote locations where I would have had trouble walking.
You are going to love it! It gives you freedom (even though it's counter-intuitive). My husband actually wheeled me to my two doctor's appointments last week, and it was so much easier than me using a walker.
Enjoy your adventures, in grand style, greaterexp Let us know how it is when you have it for a while because I am still looking for one. Right now, I only need one when I travel, and I do not travel to much these days...
I took it for a spin around the house and really liked it. We'll see how it rides outside. I don't travel much, but it's nice to have some options open up.
Yes, keep options available, and it doesn't hurt to have your own seat, greaterexp I am concerned about the sturdiness of it, and also having it collapse while I was in it...
It seemed very sturdy and rode smoothly. The website does give weight limits for each kind of chair, but they do have lightweight wheelchairs for different weight people. I'm sure it wouldn't collapse under your little self!
I am not too sure of that, greaterexp because I have been known to not put some hook on, or something like that, and it comes back to bite me in the end! (Puns totally intended)
Light is Real Nice! My mother-in-law's were all "HEAVY, LIKE TRUCK"
So light is good, but I think first of all it's going to need an anti-tippers upgrade. Bigger, stronger. Because when I add either the all electric drive, or gas with electric start, I figure with the engine, battery(ies), and transmission, oh yeah, the shock absorbers and heavy springs, it won't be so light anymore?
But, it's a good start. How much horsepower do you think it will stand up to?
Accessories? Let's see: Phone holder so you can see it when in motion, fishing pole holder and tackle box shelf,....night lighting, skip that, I can't stay up past 9pm anymore,...but I can get up before daylight, so keep lights....
It has the anti-tip gadgets on the rear. I hope that means that hubby will be limited in the scope of wheelies he can do with me in it. (I won't explain that they are easily removed.) I'll have to ask him about the horsepower, but he may be a little offended. Manpower is fairly low at our ages. I thought about a little nos, but it probably would help to have an engine first. I might put playing cards in the spokes.
