G’day my ms family. I would wish that “YOU” had a very nice nights sleep.. No ms monsters creeping through your dreams and causing any upsets.

Watching the news as I do, I saw an article about the mental difficulty people are having with this isolation. How the suicide rate is up in so many age groups. I assumed that these people had never heard of RULE ONE. It is against that rule, to ever deliberately cause yourself harm. A really simple rule, “YOU” can adjust it to suit your circumstance, it is adaptable, but the basic premise is never to cause yourself no deliberate harm. Do “YOU” understand that? Do “YOU” get the very subtle hin I most certainly hope so. “YOU” are far better than that, maybe “YOU” would not have ms if “YOU” were not able to cope with it. A bit of a stretch but how else would “YOU” like to think of it?

“YOU” like me have an incurable, progressive, illness. “YOU” have it because, just because for no other reason. One day a reason may be found but for today all we have is just because. I am sorry, cope with it. I am not trying to be mean, it just is. Now, accepting that we all must learn to live with it.

The only immediate way is to break RULE ONE. As “YOU” might guess, I am STRONGLY AGAINST THIS. “YOU” and I can cope with, live with this illness. It may and probably will throw us some very firm curve balls(loops) that is what it does. It is operating in our Central Nervous System (CNS), a very big complicated system which is not 100% known at this time. Nothing will 100% cure “YOU”. The only thing that “YOU” have are Disease Modifying Treatments (DMT) they will slow down disease progression, but they are NOT a cure. Going through your diet, exercising, not smoking, meditating may help but they will not cure “YOU”, nothing that exists today will. At least nothing that I have found. Look, it is frustrating, but it will help set your mind at ease. “YOU” will start to realize that “YOU” are in this for the long haul. Long, I mean 40 50 60 years depending upon when “YOU” were diagnosed (Dx’d). I expect to make 70 years of age and that will give me around 40 years with ms. “YOU” may have more, so “YOU” are in for the long haul, accept it. We are tough. People have done this before us, and people will do it after us. If they could, YOU most certainly CAN, and people will do it after us. The least we can do is set a good example for them to follow. I think that might be a worthwhile thing to do. Gives us all a little purpose.

Never ever break RULE 1. Believe in yourself. If anybody on this rock we live on can do it, “YOU” who are most special CAN. It is true, it is a fact, ms can not beat “YOU”, “YOU” my ms sibling are far too good to be beaten by a mystery disease. Find and embrace everything that “YOU” can that feeds the fire inside of “YOU” and keeps “YOU” going. Have faith in yourself, believe that “YOU” can, and now go forth and start living your ms.
