I started the new treatment Vumerity two days ago (Thurs) and so far, it doesn’t seem to be working well for me. It’s an oral capsule form and I was on Tecfidera (capsule) before this for over a year and that was my best Treatment. Yesterday, I had much less energy than usual even with my daily intense MS fatigue. I get that there’s a period of adjustment in beginning of starting a new medicine or doing a switch like what I’m doing to Vumerity, which is very similar to Tecfidera in composition and function, but I don’t recall ever feeling so badly after starting a new treatment. After an infusion, I’d always feel really tired day of infusion, which is to be expected and around third day like getting over the hump, but after that it was great. This am, I felt extremely tired and hardly wanted to get out of bed. I got a cup of coffee and went back to bed; That’s not me! Usually, first few hours in morning are my best and I have the most energy. Now it’s almost 1 pm and I feel very weak and still lying down in bed. I know something is not right. I called my Neuro’s urgent line and left VM. The weekend on-call doc (not my Neuro) will give me a call back soon. Now, just waiting for call back on what to do, ugh!!! This sucks.
