Hi Friends-I’ve been going through a mild relapse since last Monday. I’ve had more fatigue creeping up in spurts the past 2 weeks, then last Mon had extreme weakness and I felt like I was going to pass out but didn’t, had trouble walking, and extreme nerve pain all over my body. Went to ER and all blood & UA tests came back normal. These are usual relapse symptoms for me. 2 weeks ago-my scalp felt really sore to the touch like an electrical burn all over. I usually get this too with a relapse or it feels like small electrical shocks inside my brain. I’m taking a 5 day course of Acthar Gel injection at home advised by my Neuro and on 4th day. It’s helping reduce inflammation, but sometimes I feel like I’m dying due to weakness when I walk around. I have been lying down mostly for 7 days. It sucks!
Have had MS for 6 years so the blessing is I’m becoming more aware of strange things that show up and stick around, even if it’s off and on, I can take action earlier. Hope this helps you too. My case is usually hospitals never see a relapse on their brain MRI then ER doc makes me feel like I’m imagining this and it’s all in my head, literally. But my neuro told me hospitals only have a general MRI to look for tumors, strokes, etc. and this doesn’t see all the layers inside brain where lesions or inflammation can reside like strong magnetic field brain MRI I do for a few times a year.
Anyway, my doc ordered brain and C spine MRI’s so she can see if any active disease going on. I’m waiting for call to schedule. Hope it’s nothing bad.
I could use some good thoughts and prayers in my recovery. I’m grateful this relapse is one of the most mildest relapses I’ve had even tho I still feel awful at times.
Thanks so much! Nikki 🌵

This doesn’t sound mild to me at all, and I’m sorry for you! It takes a long time to heal, be good to yourself, and don’t be afraid to come vent about it. It doesn’t matter how small the steps are, so long as you keep moving forward.
Hi, Nikki. You are in my thoughts and prayers, and I hope that you don't end up having more or recently enhancing current lesions. I, too, have to use Acthar for my relapses. Be careful with steroid use; too much can cause avascular necrosis of the bone. I was treated for unbearable hemiplegic migraine with steroids for 25 years until Lyrica finally stopped
them, and then all the solumedrol and Acthar for the MS...too much and it killed some of my subpatellar knee bone. But hopefully your relapses will be few and you will be feeling better soon! Be well! Sukie
Thank you for your prayers. I’m sorry that you had those complications with your bones.
I appreciate info.
I’ve had steroid drip more than a handful of time for severe relapses in 6 years and usually continue with a 5 day course of Acthar or if recovering well from steroids- I don’t take it. It all depends.
My Neuro is careful how often I have steroids or these injections for the sake of my bones. As you may know, it’s hard to decipher at times if I’m having a true relapse or if a pseudo relapse, which can feel the same. That’s happened to me too.
Anyway, thanks so much for your kindness. Hope you’re doing well.
nicoly3467, You are in my Prayers 🙏& I need to suggest to u my Great Remission Story, Please get Ann Boroch's Life Changing/Saving Books or E'Books, "Healing Multiple Sclerosis", & "The Candida Cure", Those 2 books have helped saved me, IFcwz, & 1,000's of other people's lives!! Whenever our guts are leaking & Have an overgrowth of fungal bacteria, it freaks out & confuses our poor immune sytems all out of wack & causes a plethora of auto-immune diseases, but when we start to cleanse (3 bowel movements per day is healthiest), & Heal our guts up, We really start to absolutley feel better! & stay in a very GR8 Remission! Try it sweet friend, YOUR BODY WILL THANK YOU SO MUCH!! L💗VE YA! Jazzy🌹💜
Thank you much for your prayers and book info. Ann Buroch’s book is excellent-I have it! I’ve worked on the past few months not drinking any milk or eating any wheat/gluten. This has helped my digestion a lot! I’m now working on reducing my coffee intake (2 cups) slowly in am, which will take a while. I need to pace myself with every change. I’m eating more veggies too daily.
How has her book helped you? Do you have daily fatigue? How’s your pain level?
Nicely I hope your feeling better from your relapse. I get my fifth and last infusion with the solumedrol and I’m feeling much better. Heres 🙏🏻 that you feel better to.
