Me either.....insomnia is awful. Melatonin doesn’t work and dr will not give me anything to help. Good luck!

Start looking at our candida issues and Dr. E. Bakker. Candida causes our insomnia, not MS.

It’s a problem here for sure! What have you tried, what’s your routine??? Maybe people here can help with their tips.

Ok, there’s quite a few more things you could try. There’s a Genius brand sleep aid I saw on amazon today on sale. I like their caffeine, but the sleep I wasn’t sure about because it only had 0.5mg melatonin. There’s extended release melatonin. Unisom (doxylamine, not Benadryl) I take now for sleep sometimes and only use 1/4 of a pill, 1/2 if I’m really wound up but drink a lot of water with it. A whole one will put you in a coma. I also take magnesium glycinate at bedtime.

Exercise in the morning, not eating 4hrs before bed, warm bath with Epsom salts and lavender, Magnesium body oil or lotion with lavender oil added, lemon balm or lemon balm tea, no screens before bed, no blue lights at night, cool room, meditation, white noise...I’m sure there are more things you can try. I bought a Dodrow light when I was having trouble and I got hit with nausea and had to start taking doxylamine, so I’ve never used it, but it had some good reviews.

I hope one of these things can help you...if you try something please post again, as this is an ongoing issue for many here and new experiences are helpful to hear about. Sometimes these stop working too and you have to change it up. Your MD or pharmacist can check out your meds and what you want to try to see if it’s safe for you.

Yes, Fir quite a while I had insomnia as well, 2-3 hours a night, yes it is torture!!!

Tried Ambien- gave me a terrible hangover!!

Trazadone- crazy dreams!!! Every night , so must have been in REM sleep but still felt like I didn’t sleep!

Exercise does help, if u can, but not 2-3 hours before bedtime.

Don’t eat late, sleep 3-4 hours after dinner.

Since I snored before my first attack, I went for a sleep apnea test.. amazing what they find! So now I use a C Pap machine.

Do not believe anyone that u cannot get used to sleeping with a full face mask, u will get used to it in 1-2 weeks, now I sleep 8 hours straight thru!

Ask your doc about Xanax or Valium an hour before bed time, gets u to relax and sleep for a bit then C Pap takes over.

Also check with your other meds, if any, many cause sleep apnea and / or insomnia!

And no computers or tv an hour before bedtime.

Sleep well!

Tom

Face whatever it is that's going through your mind. If it's MS symptoms keeping you up find something to do so it'll distract your brain from knowing it's MS fault so that way it do not get depressed from it taken another thing away.. I hope you get some rest

Background noise does help me, like the hum of a fan nearby. I also take magnesium glycinate about 1/2 an hour before I go to bed. It helps. :-D
