Midgey_Midge06 oh my goodness! How on earth are you supposed to sleep with that contraption. Looks like you may get some wrong results. Let us know how you get on, blessings Jimeka

Try to finish, it can really help the doctor with a diagnosis.

Thank you @jimeka and @Morllyn. I called the sleep study place around 1:30am and asked how much data they really needed. She told me they need at least 2 1/2-3 hours of actual sleep from each night. I told her i had not slept even a wink the 8 hours i wore it day before and same was happening tonite- she said all the data wud be invalid cuz i hadnt slept. So - bottom line - Waste. Of. Time.

I took it all off and finally got some sleep.

I'm very sorry your GP doubts your insomnia. Like we want anything else on our plate! I have insomnia if I don't get in bed by 9 or 10 and have everything else done. I like it when everything slows down. It feels more manageable for me. Good luck. Xxoo

I am so hoping my neurologist is more understanding and prescribes me the ambien. I am sure he will considering he is an MS specialist and my primary isnt. I love my sleep. Its my escape

Midgey_Midge06 Hope your neuro will prescribe something to help you sleep. My Neuro wouldn't prescribe something and instead told me what to do to help me sleep...no electronics, no tv, darkening blinds. That just made it worse. Saw my family doc and he prescribed me Ambien. Started out with 5mg but after a couple of months it didn't work so I asked for it to be increased which after an explanation of what could happen (sleep walking/eating) etc he prescribed me 10mg.

Hope you can get what you need from your Neuro.

Hey sweetheart!!

I took the same home sleep study and the results were not helpful. I had to go to a facility for sleep study. Those home tests are a waste of time and money. Tell your doctor you need one at a facility!!!! I couldn't sleep with all that stuff on me either!!! Seriously tell your doctor you need one at a facility!!! Those are a joke!!!

I did a sleep study in a facility as well. Lots of electrodes in my hair, pulse ox on my finger, etc.....it was not my best night, but I did sleep some. I woke up a lot and I move a lot, so I knocked my nasal thing wonky a few times and she had to come put it back. Even though it was a restless night, they were able to get the data they needed. If it gets you some meds or relief, it will be worth it. I know a few people who have tried the home test and it wasn't successful for either of them. Best of luck to you. Hang in there!!

Well worth the study results. You can do it. Even with the wires on masks on youll make it through

Looks like the plan is to disrupt your sleep, rather than to see if your sleep is being disrupted. Ha!

Hi, I am seeing now the equipment you mention in the message. This is not the terrible one. I did the sleep test in a clinic of sleep disorder with my head full of plugs all over like a robot, more than 20wires all over my head. And I slept and woke up, with the study been recorded by a guy in the other room checking how I was during the night

The equipment you have is for checking sleep apnea. My husband use the same as you are wearing in the nose and around, and the machine registering graphics of you sleep and oxygen and apnea. He did the same as you. And he had bad sleep apnea due to his tongue, neck and he also had broken nose. At least he did after surgery for his broken nose with the results of the test and started sleeping little upper level and special pillow for dont let the tongue block the air, etc. I bought a triangule pillow to elevate his head a little together with the pillow that make the curve for the neck. He does not sleep everywhere as use to do related to lack of oxygen, and have more focus during the day.

This equipment was requested for my husband by a ENT doctor.exactly same machine.
