maybe a few training sessions to find out what you are doing wrong. Maybe some cooling devices might help

Have you ever been evaluated by a PT? I wonder if they may have some good suggestions for you to prevent this from happening.

Are you getting too hot? My worse is usually relived by ice, but the cause can be from cleaning or changing the kid too and it feels like exhaustion.

It's a pseudoexascerbation, goes away after cool down. Same as hot shower / bath or fever.

After I workout I rest to recover but over all I feel ok

I find swimming is the best .Much kinder and gentler on the body and feel positive and relaxed afterwards.I have found using the gym, exercise classes etc no good for me at all and come away exhausted and frustrated.

I always feel worse after I work out and take a shower. I go to PT once a week and exercise at home on my off days.

I'm not sure how to answer. I feel much better when I am active and purposeful. There's no gym nearby, so when the weather allows, I am outside working on my hilly place. I dig holes, move compost, hand saw small limbs, use a hand splitter on corded wood, rake, plant, etc. Doing this, I can forget the neuropathy in my feet, the pain in my ankle, the headaches, etc. I am not fast or terribly strong, but I love doing this. When I come in, and sit down, or have to stand at the sink and finally do the dishes, then I am aware of every individual pain, so yes, I feel worse, but it comes from awareness that I forget about when I am busy.

my physical therapist told me "there is a fine line when you have ms. of when you should stop so you don't over do it".He had me doing each movement for only 3 minutes at a time.and then rest..maybe that will help you:)

Mine as well. I have an exercise bike & neuro said “start w 15 mins”. Umm no! I was sore & couldn’t walk even 10ft for 2 days. PT said start w up to 5 mins then work up depending on what your body is telling you. If you can do 10 mins, great & if tomorrow you are done @ 5, it’s ok. Maybe the next day your limit is 7.5. She is always reminding me it’s all about balance between exercise & fatigue and to not overdo things. I’ve always been stubborn/determined & tend to do more than I probably should do so the reminder is helpful. It’s been 4 months & I still haven’t reached more than 10 mins but it’s ok; maybe I will, maybe I won’t 🤷‍♀️

Jackjosh , I find if I want to exercise, then I need a break afterward otherwise it’s too much and I feel horrible.

Even before I was diagnosed w/ RRMS, I noticed how exhausted I felt after working out. I was sleepy driving home. My physical therapist told me to exercise in small increments, I ride my bike for 5 minutes, but I’m still tired, so I sometimes stop early & try to do it again when I feel stronger.

When I’m too tired, my feet miss the pedals.

You aren’t alone in this.

if i do some thing that i shouldn't do for it stretches something that hasn't been stretched for along time ...have to do things slower ..i just do walking and stationary bike ...lots of people say they do yoga ..i personally haven't tried it yet i have the video but still haven't done it yet ...good luck and be careful for you don't want to end up at the doctors office......take care and be careful....

Yes Jackjosh but that usually happens when I over do it. There is a fine line between doing enough and going overboard! I have yet to find my happy medium! Hopefully, you have recovered and are doing better.

Keep Smiling,

Carole :-D

agreed with all comments.

If I do too much then I get leg pain 3 to 4 hours after exercise. I know it's MS because regular pain killers don't make it go away.

If I get sore from the exercise (which is slightly different than doing too much), then I feel really off for 3 days - sluggish, uncoordinated.

I find that a reasonable amount of exercise every day is better than a lot twice a week.

But I also experimented with the "limit" and after a year or so of exercise, I can do much more without the same issue.

(if I do nothing, it's also bad.)

To avoid feeling fatigued after a work out, I have a fan blasting on high the whole time as we don't have central air in our home. That would be my only problem with it so far.
