Hello everyone it's Fancy1959. I'm writing this post to remind everyone, all 1600 Plus members in this chat room to never give up on your dreams and what you love despite your MS. Where there's a will there is normally a way and if you work hard and if you fight this monster tooth and nail you can achieve your dreams. Even if you have to modify those dreams in order to achieve them. This past weekend we went to O'Bannon Woods in Indiana and camped and rode our horses on the trails there. With the help of my husband and Sons and a handy picnic table or tree or two I was able to ride King. One of our walking horses that we have owned for over a dozen years! It was much easier for me to feel confident, comfortable, and have better balance on a full size horse since that is what I was used to riding for years and years. Dusty Rose, my pony, did great and my husband wound up riding her and loved her smooth gait! We rode on Sunday for about 2 hours and on Monday for slightly over two hours. Was I physically worn out when I was finished, you bet. But it was a great feeling and a great feeling of exhaustion knowing I'd achieved something I hadn't been able to do in almost two years. ππ΄ππ
I'm thrilled to hear this Fancy1959 ! Thanks for sharing your accomplishment. I hope it spurs others here to tackle something they thought otherwise impossible. π
Jimeka, you and every single horse enthusiast in this chat room was with me in spirit all weekend long. I could hear your laughter in the wind and your joy surrounded me in the beautiful forest.π
What a great picture and post Fancy1959 ! Up for the challenges of life, as always, and striding in on your trusty horse.
And can you believe it, but we are now up to 1,700+ members on My MSAA Community, in part thanks to the Community Ambassadorship of you, Jesmcd2 , & WAshingtongirl !
Thanks John! I don't know how to quit. It's not in my nature. MS has slowed me down that's for sure but I keep putting one foot in front of the other even when I don't feel like it. I am not ready to give up on me yet and if anybody else says that I should give up they better watch out! I have a trustee walking stick of Hickory that I can swing with the best of them! Haha!
Fancy1959 you are an inspiration to know and I believe God put you in my life for that purpose!!! I was totally giving in the deep down fatigue that some of us deal with, and the horrible horrible back pain and some days not getting out of bed. D. Tyman asked me what I would do if I had the energy, what dream I could follow (my past dreams were impossible due to the back--like backpacking for 2 weeks--hard to do on Capoxone), so I said I would have a flower garden with roses. Well dear @fancy1959, I will post a photo of my first rose in bloom if I can figure out how.!! With the help of my beloved husband doing all the digging, I now have my "sunshine garden" next to back patio and my "shade garden" around the trees in front yard. Yes, it pays to have a dream! Now I must get out of bed and water and feed and watch for weeds! While I am pulling weeds, I pull them negative thought weeds right out of my mind, also. And, I feed my mind with the Truth. So much to be learned from gardening I am discovering. Go forward and find a way to make MS a sideline, not my center of attention anymore! As Tiny Tim said on his crutches "God bless one and all!"
And God bless you agapepilgrim. Between you with your gardening, Erin with her quilting, CalfeeChick with her crocheting, Fancy1959 horse riding, people swimming, and the list goes on, so everyone keep going, there are now over 1700 of us, so between us all we can fight this monster. KEEP going everyone, blessings Jimeka π¦ π π
Amen to that Jimeka! There is no reason to give hope. Hope is Life. MS cannot steal our hope, only we can through it away! Fight on MS Warriors, fight on! Blessing to you and everyone in this chat room.
Awe Judy, you've made me cry! You are such an inspiration! I know how hard it is for you to get out bed on your bad days yet you've gone and put in a rose garden! Send pictures, I can't wait to see your roses!
Fancy1959 , great to see you enjoying your day! We have had a busy few weeks, attended our Grandson's college graduation in California, went to Las Vegas for a few days and just got back from Mexico! Let's all post good times to help reinforce with our newbies that there IS a life after MS DX!
SueAB, it's Fancy1959! Life is what we make of it! And a positive attitude is the gate keeper of living our lives to the fullest and of our dreams! So every week I hope we can get positive experiences posted on chat room! There indeed is life after MS diagnosis......
