Yes yes yes Royce you keep saying take Disease-Modifying Therapy (DMT) but what else do I do? I am sorry, this is advice but certainly not all-inclusive or in any particular order.
Wear protective underwear. Do you remember your first period? That "YOU" wish "YOU" had of had Tampos or a pad, or some thing. Same thing Gentlemen, too many beers too long a line at the toilet (bathroom). It is not hard, protective underwear is discrete, much better than standing there peeing yourself. Or much worse, bowels having a mind of their own. I am so glad that I have my depends on whenever I leave the house.
Keep a record of Doctor visits and your health in general. Not a big deal, a date what happened who was there. It does not have to be a five thousand word essay. Merely enough to remind you of what happened and when it happened.
Develop some good eating habits. I like my fish and chips and chocolate biscuits like everybody else. Perhaps eating them every single day is not such a good idea. Cutback a little, your heart and blood sugar may thank you later. Diets are fun, but find something that "YOU" will stick to for years, not six weeks.
ms is a debilitating condition, if it has not I can assure "YOU" that it will make "YOU" doubt yourself. Far better to be prepared for those events. Find ways to make yourself mentally flexible and strong. To be like bamboo. Bend with the storms and headwinds of your ms, but never let it break "YOU". Slowly bounce back as much as "YOU" can over your many years with this disease. That is what I mean by strength. I like to read tales of young men who explored the world, marched into a hail of machine gunfire, I think if they could and di, then I can as well, and "YOU" know what comes next? If I can so can "YOU".
There is always a way around everything. It is not always obvious at first, but it is out there. If it does not pop into your head immediately think about it for a day or two, then ask. Somebody somewhere may have a good idea that will suit "YOU" that is what a support group does. It supports.
Royce( the ms writer)
good habits lead to good outcomes, ask if you do not know
I am sure I left something out, ask
