Accept and forgive

Accept and forgive. I do not ask “YOU” to forgive everybody or to accept everything that has happened to “YOU” in your life or things that will happen to “YOU”. Perhaps on the wheel that is my ma life I am becoming more able to just accept who I am am and my various foibles. I am very sure that I feel the pain and suffer the consequences of my misdeeds. It affects ME, perhaps yours affects “YOU” as well. I understand that forgiveness is perhaps a little hard in our society and with our upbringing but who does my upsetedness (not a word I think) hurt. truly harm. All sorts of emotions can upset the careful balance we live with daily on our lifelong ms journey. Perhaps accepting and forgiving other peoples hurts that they thrust at us is not such a bad idea I do not know what they go through, their pains and fears, as they do not know mine. Can I just accept their differences and concentrate on me and mine. I am travelling this path. There are others around me, but at 3am I have to face myself and accept my days journey for what it was. I\we need not carry extra baggage with us. Sometimes these ms hills are very steep and we need every bit of energy to lift ourselves up another step and move forward.

if a highly educated doctor does not understand me and sometimes even I am lost how can I reasonably expect others to, be they family or friends, to understand and cope with me. Sometimes it is difficult for me to cope with myself. I am never suggesting that “YOU” be a doormat for others. I am suggesting that it might be in your interest to moderate your reactions to others. Remember 3am, that person in your head is “YOU”. Do not make life harder than it has to be for “YOU”, because when it boils down to it “YOU” and only “YOU” have to live with and through the consequences. I am sure my ex wife never gives her treatment of me a seconds thought, let alone a thought at all. Accept forgive but maybe not forget. I would rather not be so gullible or hurt again.

The ills that happen to us can be a learning experiences. I believe it may be in our interest to learn well from them and forgive occasionally, To be as strong as we can emotionally if not physically.

Royce

I try to forgive, sometimes I fail, but that is okay I am nit yet perfect, my walk is long.

I try to be ever so mindful of my thoughts, my deeds, my words as I go through life. I find that it is so hard to take any of that back, especially if you never intended to say/do it, in the first place. A work in progress, I am. Thank you for this thought provoking post, Royce. :-D

I enjoyed reading your post. I face me at 3 am often and you're right, it is a lonely place to be.

Hi Royce Newton

Still like your name AND your words of wisdom. You really get it done deep. But then we get you down deep in our souls! I'm so sorry for your hurt especially with your ex-wife. I hear your hurt. I've been like that by people I live with but I am unable for now to get independent. I understand your meanings. I wish my mind could put my words out to describe my pain hurt lif I'm living in. I feel alone trapped don't know how to firgure out how to deal with my situation. I do therapists I talk with and I have been changing my life to the best of my abilities. With a chronic disease where I need expensive medications and affordable healthcare I'm forced into my living arrangements. I'm a changed person because of it. Saddened but have the Lord, positivity, a few colleges music and my WILL to LIVE. I am THANKFUL for your words. They help to keep my mind from going crazy.

Blessings to you becky

Royce this was a very well written post. I've learned several things about myself since being diagnosed. First was empathy for others. I do have learned forgiveness but it takes several hours before that kicks in.

I do have immediate issues with anger towards (what I believe to be stupid people) that is not do to the MS. I've always been that way but very rarely forgave them. So I have improved in that area.

The problem I have never gotten over is the acceptance. I don't blame anyone for my condition except for me and the man upstairs. I'm not sure how I'm going to overcome that issue.
