Hi, i am 26 year old male. I am having vertical double vision since last 10 months. I see one image above other. Second image is blurr. I see double vision only in dim light. I tried closing my each eye, i have same result. Problem is in both eyes. After physical eye examination opthalmalogist told me that there is no problem in my eye but i have minor degree of error as per prism test. My MRI was normal. He sent me to neurologist. Neurologist told me that it might ne mysthania gravis for that he gave me some blood tests to do. I gor result, i have less neutrophills, more lymphocytes and more TSH than normal level. Now i will visit neurologist again with blood test report but i have one question in mind. I see double vision only in dim light and morever double vision dont go after covering one eye then how it can be neurological problem? I am confused. What should i do? Why my double vision is related to dim light?

Double vision in dim light
I wish I had an answer for you, but I'm glad you have an appointment with the neurologist. It may take seeing more than one specialist for you to find out what the real cause is. Then you can look at treatment options.
I have no answer for your question just wanted ton wanted to wish you the best
I am not sure why this happens to you only in dim lighting. I know that my left eye is the only one to go from blurry to completely blind. It does get worse (blurryness) with dim lights, I have noticed...but not sure why. Maybe because the dim light doesnt provide enough lighting for my or our eyes to make out objects. Idk. My Neurologist looked into my eyes with the bright light and told me the ring in my eye is a blurred circle which causes my eye to get blurry and then blind. So, I'm not sure what the answer will be for you. I'm sorry. I hope this helps.
Sir thanks for your reply. You were facing the problem of double vision where image is above another image? Or it was just blurry? After how many months your eye went completely blind after noticing this problem?
Thanks for the sir...but I am a Ma'am...lol...my vision was doubled on the left side and blurry. Sadly, the first time I had eye trouble in December of 2017 was when my left eye went blind, no days or weeks of double or blurry vision. Happened all at once. So, went double visioned, blurry, then blind. I'm,right now, in a room that's dark typing this post and I can barely see the letters on the phone to make out words, that's how bad the blurry vision is. Im waiting for a new referral to be sent so I can see a new eye dr since the one I had is no longer at the hospital. I hope this helps you.
Thanks again for reply for mam. I am really sorry for whatever happened with you. I pray god to bring your vision back to the normal. Its been 10 months i am struggling with double vision. Opthalmologist found no problem in my eyes. I hope neurologist be able to find cause soon. People around me just laughing at me and they dont understand what i am going through. That is the thing gives me anxiety. For them this is my thought not real problem. I am psycho in their opinion.
You are SO not alone when it comes to anxiety. I have a disabled plate on my car and I get looks and name called when I use that plate to park close to a store or hospital. I break out in hives then hyperventilate and get dizzy from not breathing properly. I understand what you are going through and again, you are not alone. Have your Neurologist look into your eyes with that bright light and ask how the rings look that are in your eyes? I am here if ever you just need someone to talk too or if you just need me to listen.
Many years ago my left eye experienced optic neuritis. This left some permanent damage to color vision. More recently, reading became less easy (and more tiring) because lines of text would appear larger than those preceding, and letters had a shadow floating slightly above. Though color vision is still affected in my left eye, the more recent problem was solved by a neuro ophthalmologist who prescribed fresnel lenses for my trifocals. I hope your problem is also resolved, perhaps with the help of a ophthalmologist who specializes in neurological problems affecting vision.
Hello Sir, May I ask what was your outcome after consulting the neurologist. I am going through a similar issue where I see double vision in both eyes only when seeing a light source in dim light. For example, when I see my modem lights in the dark I get a vertical double vision. I checked with my opthalmologist and found nothing wrong with my eyes. He said it may be due to eye strain or dry eyes and prescribed a lubricant. I have been using it for the last 2 days and find no major improvement. I don't know if I should see a neurologist. Can you let me know what your condition was ? And how is the prognosis? I know this post is 2 years old.. but would be glad if you could reply.
Hey,does your problem got solved if yes then please reply
