Feeling overwhelmed

I have been feeling under weather with worsening spine pain/spasms and vision problems. I was not able to see my usual opthalmologist for pain and now itchy eyes. Suggested to use steroid drops for my inflamed eye for 3 weeks. This has been a chronic problem. I made a call to request to speak to my regular opthamologist. I only have vision in that eye. I get an X-ray today of my spine. After a car drive the pain in my spine hasn't improved. They suggest that I get PT if my X-ray is fine. The cooler weather has increased my symptoms. I feel overwhelmed. My neurologist order a Dexa Scan which was normal. Just feeling overwhelmed.

I could be feeling overwhelmed because my husband is retiring in January and I want to be healthier when he is home. And my eldest son has been home partially trying to help me. But my husband thinks it an excuse to be home. It is a daunting task to live by oneself. I remember when I was young. Our culture treats a person harshly if they don't be on their own. I do appreciate my sons help as my husband finishes working before his retirement. Just so many changes.

You have a lot on your plate! Try not to look at the whole picture, and just focus on what you can deal with today. I know it is easy for me to say, because I am just looking in, not living your situation. But be gentle with yourself. Hugs and warm wishes! 🤗🤗 Kelly

I'm sorry that you are feeling overwhelmed. Hope the steroid drops help. I know when a lot happens at one time I get overwhelmed easily. Gentle hugs your way.

Thank you. Feeling better today. Finally some relief from symptoms. Low dose of steroids. Just rough year. I had a day where I felt like quitting. But I tarried along. Prayed and had a good night sleep.

Sorry you are feeling overwhelmed. Just try to take one thing at a time instead of everything all at once. I just went through a melt-down myself for feeling the same way. My husband told me to make a list of what I needed to do. Then finish one thing before starting another, then check it off. I started doing that & it has helped. Don't be ashamed for not being able to do things on your own. We all need help at some point. Everyone is different & needs help at different times for different reasons. It's hard to change your lifestyle too. I had a hard time spending every day all day with my husband. It just takes some adjusting but eventually, we both got comfortable. Worry & fear are the two biggest things that can cause us physical & mental pain. I heard those two feelings in your writing. If you can give those worries to your "Higher Power" & let go. Another way is to write down your worries & fears then tear them up and throw them away. As you physically do that do it in your mind also. Prayers for your worries to go away.

Excellent advice. Yes, I know I have to surrender all my worries and burdens to our higher power. I have the countless verses. Just had a bad day. I talked and pray with pastor, husband and my son😃! Just sometimes it is daunting to push oneself.

A dexa scan (bone density) is a scan of your bones to determine bone loss, way to rule out osteoporosis and risk of fracture. I had a normal scan and X-ray stated no compressed fracture in spine. So I am grateful. I even walked with a friend around my block, carefully. Just was overwhelmed with too many problems and had to take one at a time.

Thank you for listening. Doing much better emotionally and pain is not so intense. Thank you very much. Rough year, loss parents (mom, father-in-law, estate settlement with my brothers very difficult, nasty accusations that I was responsible for Mom’s death or I stole money/luxury items, not willing to reimburse me for funeral, ... health went 👎🏽, spirit was very low) . But in the midst of it all, there were joys too! Grateful for you listening, prayers and encouragement. Better days are coming.
