Wow wasn't expecting that to happen so soon! Got my Notice of Hearing in the mail today. Scheduled for February 1st, 2019 @ 11:15 am! Right here in Grand Rapids, MI where I live, so no problem getting to it! My anxiety has gone through the roof since I received the notice today. So, all my recent medical info, including ordered tests/labwork, MRI's, PT/OT, and Rx for Ocrevus, and being definitively diagnosed with MS on October 19th, I have to submit all that to the Administrative Law Judge and my Legal Representative. Uggh π΅ Don't have the $$ to make so many copies or faxes of the required documentation at the library, and my Neuro's office charges for faxing paperwork unless it's going to another medical provider for a referral or my PCP. Don't know how I'm going to be able to do all this, since I don't have my own copy/fax machine. ππ² Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! β€

SSI Hearing Scheduled!
We have a Winco grocery store and was able to get copies of my paperwork there for 5 cents a copy so twenty copies was $1.00 Maybe go up to the hospital and ask for the financial advocacy person and they may be able to help or make arrangements π€·πΌββοΈ. How about a local church βͺοΈ might help you get copies and fax them π€·πΌββοΈ. Prayers are with you πππΎ Ken

I don't know if any of these would be helpful, but it's worth a look. Do you have an estimate of the costs of preparing these documents?
Good luck with all that. Is there someone near you who works in an office that could help? Or the local NMSS? Seems help with paperwork should be something that MSAA could help with too.
Thank you for the suggestions, I will have to call around and see if I can get help with this! I'm feeling under the weather today with a bad head cold and my voice is raspy, so probably tomorrow if I'm feeling better. Thanks again for your help! π
Copy to PDF and send
Your attorney should do all the paperwork needed for hearing all you should have to do is show up and testify.
This may not be helpful to you, but I just had to replace my all in one printer/fax/scanner/copier machine and it was $100. They had some as low as $60. I keep one on hand just for the reasons you stated, sometimes you just have to fax something to someone. Most modern companies will accept a pdf. or an e-copy. I think of it as insurance.
Ok maybe you could ask your PC doctor to ask your Neurologist for a copy of your medical records to be sent to them.
I want to let you know that I have a copier/fax/printer and scanner. It did cost to get it. But Iβm sure if you look into it you could get it for a lower price. If you do get it try to get one that has ink that is combined mine is one that the colors are separate. But I bye my ink from the company by the internet and that can be cheaper. Once I replace one color I order more so I never run out. Mine is an Epson.
But to have a fax you need to have a land line.
I also know that at my library I can send faxes they say pay as you can. You can fax and print at Staples.
I hope this helps you and good luck in everything.

Thank you ssdw1958! I know my library charges $1 per page to fax and 15 cents per page to print. I have some paperwork that was mailed to me and some test results, etc. that are on my health portal online but there's no option on the portal to turn that information into a pdf document so you can send or print it. Maybe I'm just a tech dummy, but I couldn't figure out how to do it! ππ€
The portal I use with my neuro's office, everything is usually a pdf when you download it. I also have Microsoft Office so that when I have something in Word, I can convert it to a pdf if I need to. Not sure if all versions of Word have that feature or not. I just go to 'print' and then there is an option for a pdf printer or a printer I have attached to my computer. When I choose pdf printer it will save to my computer. Hope this helps.

Thank you, bxrmom ! I don't have a computer but am trying to get one. I downloaded and copied a form at my library from the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation's computer program (msfocus.org). I have it filled out but just need my neuro to sign and date it, to confirm my diagnosis. His nurse said I can drop it off if I want to, but Mercy Health, whom they are affiliated with, has a policy that they charge a fee for paperwork that isn't going directly to my PCP or another medical provider. So I'm still waiting to send it until I can get some $$ around, then I can have him sign it and send it in.π π©
I know some Drs won't sign something unless you have an appt as was the case with a previous Neuro I had when I lived in WI. I hope your neuro doesn't charge too much to sign something. Can your family dr saying you have a confirmed dx without having to pay a fee?

My hearing date is December 12, 2018. I first applied for SSI back on March 30, 2016. My lawyers are handling all the paper work. All I had to do is electronically sign and they get all they need from all my doctors, all I have to do is meet with my lawyers in about a week and a half then show up in court. I wish you the best. Oh and a local library can do alot of printing and faxing for cheap. ππβ€π·
Hi Rosey and thanks for your reply! It's all my most recent medical info they need, to update my case and to show a definitive MS diagnosis and treatment for it. I will be having MRI'S, physical and occupational therapy and eventually starting on Ocrevus, pending insurance approval. My Neuro's orders for those aren't on my health portal, so I will need to somehow get that done. π
In the past I have taken photos of information and then sent them by email to them. Information I have received by email I just forward it. All done on my π². Recently I purchased a wireless printer copier fax π for $85.00 and works great off my phone π±. I donβt have the money for a new computer π» so this was a great option ππΎππ. Ken
I canβt help with the printing and paperwork but I can wish you the best of luck at your hearing.
Things have changed a lot since filed for my ssd in 2002. It took3 years I think it was and back then you were automatically turned down on your first hearing hoping you wouldnβt come back. But the second time was no problem. Didnβt even have to sit down before I was approved and awarded back pay.
But times have changed since then.
So again good luck and our prayers are with you.
Donnie
Good Luck at the hearing! I would think your lawyer should take care of the paperwork.
Leslie
Yes, I need to let them know about all this recent medical evidence, hopefully they will get the paperwork and take care of it for me!
