I have received some angry replies from the proponents of the MRI contrast and would like to reply to all. A couple of years ago, my neuro told me that because of the FDA findings, they no longer use the MRI contrast, which is not safe. This hospital is one of the best in the world. The year after, they went back to the contrast.

Did you know they find MRI contrast in corpses' brains? Your body can process Thanksgiving turkey and cranberry sauce too, but that MRI contrast will be with you long after you are gone.

I am not your doctor and not trying to give anyone medical advice. I merely suggested people do their own research.

I understood what you was stating. Don’t let the misinformed deter you from stating your opinion. I’ve read in the past about the issues with MRI Contrast, so I understood what you was talking about. Keep doing what you doing.

I've been studying medical journals due to a new condition I have developed recently. MRI contrast can enhance small lesions unable to be seen without it. That's the whole point of it's use. So if someone has a large amount of unseen lesions, would you really want your doctors to not know???

IFwczs what I said was in no way said in anger. And if you thought so I apologise.

I was merely cut and pasting what else the very same article said.

Knowledge is power, and I'm all for it. But you have to have all of it. And read the whole thing when it comes to yours or anyone's health.

I am in no way shape or form able to give out medical advice. And agree that Everyone should listen to their own neuro about it.

I don't agree about lying about being allergic to it tho. As this is the best way to keep track of what's happening to you. At this time. 🤗💕

The beauty of this place is that we can bring information and ideas here and let people work it out for themselves. There are many treatments that some swear by, and yet others consider snake oil. I'm always grateful when members find information of interest and bring it here. We all must look into treatment ideas ourselves and talk them over with our doctors and then choose what fits us best. Since we are all so different from a medical standpoint, and we all have our own individual thoughts and feelings, having more information can equip us to make important decisions.

IFwczs The Summer/Fall issue of MSAA's publication "The Motivator" is devoted to Magnetic Resonance Imaging. The lead article is clearly written with helpful photos and graphics. Coupled with the information you shared about allergic reaction to/persistence of gadolinium in brain tissues may help each person decided what is best for him/herself with regard to the next MRI.
