My name is Susan I’ve had multiple sclerosis for 35 years. Still walking and talking my memory has gotten worse. Walk for exercise and eat a healthy diet. Mother of two adults and three grandchildren. Giving up driving my car has been hard. All my bills are paid so I get a ride from friends or take an Uber.

Welcome, Susan, to a great group. I hope you have a good support system, but this family is wonderful for answering questions and for offering encouragement.

I also have had MS for a long time, 25+ years. I walk with a walker or a cane. I belong to a great senior center and take exercise classes there. Chair yoga, regular chair exercises, and water aerobics. I think those classes are keeping me mobile and help my mood stay positive. MS is not a death sentence, but it certainly changes life.

Hi Susan. I share much of your story. 30+ yrs dx, children and grandchildren, lumbering along but still driving (very carefully). Wondering what made you and how you gave it up. I know it will be coming for me in the not too distant future. Welcome to a most supportive group. Ellen
