Pulse therapy for MS

My wife was diagnosed with MS in July this year. Following a 5-day corticosteroid pulse therapy with methylprednisolone, she now has nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Is this normal and how long will it last? Many thanks to all.

I've had many infusions and not had this problem, nor heard of this. I would call the on call doctor. She may be having a reaction.

Hi and welcome kaluanda . I'm not familiar with the pulse therapy w/ Methylprednisolone 🤔

Can you explain that please? Thanks!

No one here is a Dr! Or can give you medical advice!

But this all doesn't sound right and she should call her Neuro asap like starlight5 said.

So she had a 5 day infusion of Methylprednisolone 🤔 kaluanda did they give her a taper off ,where they give Prednisone tablets afterwards?

She might need to talk to her neuro about that. How long ago was her last one?

Correction. The treatment was five infusions, one every other day. No taper off. She's now on metformin hydrochloride 500 mg/day and feeling miserable.

Have her call her neuro☺️ it's all new to you both, and they don't mind the call! I really hope she feels better better soon!!

Her GI symptoms may be due to the metformin. Those are common symptoms of that drug.

Agree. It's a common side effect of metformin. The thing of it is she's being taking the drug for 20 years now.

Any steroid treatment is hard on the body. Five days in a row made me sick also. All of us are different, but I noticed a difference about a week later.

I hope she feels better soon and has some relief from her symptoms.
