Hi friends! I just wanted to ask: when you're too tired, in a lot of pain and can't get out of bed or take a shower and feeling like crap, aside from cancelling last minute plans with friends/family, has anyone had to cancel a Dr/neuro appointment because of that? I had an appointment with my PC a few weeks ago, but had to cancel it and reschedule. Thanks in advance! ❤

Last minute cancellations: Just Wondering?? 🤔
I've cancelled on PT but Neuro appt - nope, too hard to get an appt.
Never cancel neuro anything else go for it
I almost had to cancel because i didn’t you have a ride my husband go off of work and drove me. I try not to cancel the Nero appointment they are hard to come by. You know have you ever taken a bird bath. They can make you feel clean. I was told there is this hair cleaner that you can spray in your hair and it will fluff up your hair. I hope you have a good day.
I’ve come close once or twice but because of the difficulty in getting an appointment I knew I better go and every time I go I’m glad I made it there.
I have had to cancel get-togethers, but a neuro appointment is different.
If u go to a beauty supply store there is a dry shampoo brand Amika: that is really good. I also shower a day before the appt and take my Nuvigil the morning of so i have the energy. I have had my PCP cancel on me which made mad cuz of how hard i worked to get ready for the appt
Oh my! I would never cancel a neuro appt. it would be another 6 mos. before I could get another appt 😕
Thanks everyone for your responses! I'm on a guilt trip right now because that's the main reason I lost jobs in the past, before I knew what was going on, until I was diagnosed with CIS OR "demyelinating disease of the Central Nervous System" last year. I had to call in sick too many times because I couldn't get out of bed and pain. My docs would always say it's stress related, working too many hours, etc. Can't get Family Medical Leave with those kinds of "diagnoses." 😒🙁 Then try to explain that to another potential employer, and even better, SSI/SSDI why you're unable to work! Sorry so long, had to vent 😵😦
Thought about cancelling dr appt this week, because it was so early and I've been really tired lately.. went anyway.
Yes, of course. At least once or twice. Neurology appointments are hard to come by though. They usually schedule you six months out.
I've only cancelled a Neuro appointment once and that was only because he wanted to see me after some tests were done. Insurance is still denying those tests. The Neuro is fighting with them over it. Insurance doesn't seem to care that my memory issues are getting worse. In the meantime I have to settle for the free online mind games to keep sharp what I've got left.
I haven’t ONLY bc my husband and I schedule our appts back to back (we see the same neuro). I don’t feel like an inconvenience that way and won’t let him miss his appt. I was told it’s best to go when you are feeling the worst (even tho it sucks...) so your symptoms are more visible. I’ve noticed a big difference what is written in my records since doing that. Maybe find a way to reward yourself for keeping the appt. -Kris
It may be worth asking ur neuro abot nuvigil or provigil for ur fatigue. I didnt like it much at first but now i cudnt go a day without it. I take it to get outta bed and ambien cr to go to sleep
I've never done that, however I've canceled appts. because of construction and detours
going on in that area. Hopefully a good Dr. would understand that you're tired.

Hi Bamfan1442: If I don’t give at least a 24hr advance notice for canceling, I get charged with a office visit which is expensive. Really hard to reschedule. With your name Bamfan are you an Alabama Chrimsen Tide fan? 😊
I haven’t had to cancel a neuro appointment yet but I know if I did, it would be a couple months before I could get back in. So, for 2 days prior to that appointment, I basically do NOTHING STRESSFUL, rest more than normal, and just try to do everything possible that will improve my chances of getting there. It’s crazy to have to plan out our lives like that, but I have to, none the less. I’m sure the day will come that despite my best efforts, I will have to cancel. Don’t be hard on yourself for missing... I bet it happens often for people with our medical situations! 😊❤️
I don't think I have but I won't swear that I haven't. I have a very rusty memory with holes in it. Mary
Hi Bamfan, I’m a Michigan fan will root for MSU only when they don’t play against Michigan 😊
