Yesterday my physical therapy office called and offered to reschedule my PT aptt. I kept it anyway, there was half as many patients there and one of the older receptionists wasn't there. I noticed they sprayed each piece of equipment after each use, one of the therapists I worked with said they think they will make that a regular procedures.
I have commented to my husband that I have seen places doing things that they are required to do with the new CDC guidelines (such as wiping down medical equipment after each use, using gloves when handling money, etc) hat should have been common practice in the first place.
My friend and I went to the local farmers market, bought a box of gloves and masks because she has allergies. we shared them and I feel good that I've a little protection. Right now my world is within the walls of my house. Guess I'll get allot of reading, sewing and crafts done and finally teach myself Sudoku!
PCP changed my appointment today from in person to telemedicine. An appointment tomorrow was outright cancelled on me and they didn't know when they can reschedule me yet. I really wanted that appointment tomorrow and it can't be done via telemedicine. Another next week might get cancelled on me as well to repeat a mammogram apparently they didn't get a complete picture on one side so it has to be repeated.😧
Have cancelled a GYN appt. and will probably cancel one for an Opthalmologist appt. next week. They were not essential, just check ups. Plan to keep one with PCP next week.
My annual was cancelled by my PCP this past Monday. They will call to reschedule. My next appointment is a 6 month dental check up at the end of April. Until things settle down, I am afraid that this will be the new normal. Keep Smiling, greaterexp
My dentist office called me yesterday to cancel my March 31st appt to get a tooth rebuilt. They will be calling me to reschedule when they are able to see patiets again. March 25th I have my Chiro appt and I haven't heard anything yet. Last week I only had to have my appt moved to a later time because he had a funeral he needed to attend. Time will tell about future appts. As of right now, it's on the books still
Yeah my pain management team called Monday to cancel my Wednesday appt. said they would call my refills in which is fine all we do is she ask what’s up then ask what’s your pain level right now always a 7 or better usually. But I don’t know why because nothings gonna change. They’re not gonna up my meds so I don’t know why they even ask.🤫🤭. Reschuled for next month but they will let me know if that changes. So they saved me $40 gas and and office visit. Awesome. Donnie
I went to pain specialist Monday and they closed there waiting room and came out side, receptionist took my info and nurse blood pressure and temperature 🤒. Then vehicle description and you waited in your car 🚘. Great idea and they were on time. Went to St Luke’s hospital yesterday and had my feeding tube replacement done and they checked you in at the door also. My neurologist checked with me twice if I was coming and yes I went there today and every thing went as normal. I had asked all three places and they said only canceling was from patients not wanting to come not them. 👍🙏😉😊🐾🐾 Ken
I have nurse practitioner students in clinical rotations throughout the nation. Either their clinical sites (doc offices) are closed or they are seeing very few patients. Some are doing virtual visits and telehealth.
Then 2 days ago the university decided all students needed to stop their clinical rotations immediately. This was 1. To protect the student (their experiences were limited anyway) and 2. Because these nurse practitioner students are nurses that are needed back in their hospital jobs
I am a nurse in radiation oncology and we have been converting some clinic patients to phone appointments and starting yesterday patients can only bring someone else in with them if they require physical or cognitive assistance. We do not want the waiting area to have more than a few people in it at one time. Of course we are still giving radiation treatments to people but are looking at postponing starting new patients who do not need to start treatment right away.
I personally have an appointment for a colonoscopy next month but won't be surprised if they postpone it. I think they have cancelled elective surgeries at my hospital. I have a neuro appt in May and hope things will be better by then.
My dentist is closed for the duration: emergencies only. GP and neuro are still seeing scheduled patients, but taking temperatures and multiple other precautions. I have a referral for PT but will have to wait till the crisis is past to act on it.
not yet,I have an appt with neuro. on march 31st,we will see.my hubby has Just cold ,we cancelled his eye appt.I thought people would just freak out if he sneezed.I cancelled a haircut, too close for comfort,I guess I will just look like a hag
My dental hygienist called asking if I wanted to bump up cleaning visit. She's had a lot of cancellations. It went to voice mail and I didn't directly speak to them, but no. And cancel my upcoming appointment too. The cleaning can wait.
I have my normal 6 month check up and physical scheduled with my GP for next Friday, so I’m waiting to see if I get a call rescheduling. Same with my 6 month dentist cleaning....that’s around the 1st of next month. We’ll see if it gets rescheduled as well. Since I’m in the age category that’s at the most vulnerable, I’m betting these will get rescheduled. Even though, as of now, there’s been no known cases within 150 miles of us.
None of my providers have canceled my upcoming appointments. I just got emails from two of the healthcare systems my Drs practtice with telling me about how to call the help line ahead of appointment if you are experiencing any symptoms; and the announcements of the drive-up testing centers are at two of the facilities, otherwise, show up for your appointments, One, however, did NOT pass along any info. It is the University hospital where my neurologist practices. Had to google that info instead. Now I did cancel my podiatrist's appointment for next Tuesday. Not for any fears, but ecause the money I'd tucked away specifically for Lyft rides to Dr. apppointments, med co-pays, etc, got sucked out of that account by Instacart to pay for a membership I tried but couldn't get back in 2018. They didn't try in 2019, or in Jan 2020 or Feb 2020. They got a wild hair and sucked it out last week.
The SF Bay Area may have one of the most draconian measures to stem the COVID19 spread, in the US. No PT, no Dr's (only in emergencies), no restaurants, no bars, no gatherings of more than 5 people. But we'll survive!
I guess my chiropractor is still seeing patients but I'm not going. I was hesitant going before knowing that no chiropractor that I have ever seen before washes their hands in between patients. At the most they might just put a little hand sanitizer on like they are trying to conserve it. My one doctor called and asked if I would rather do a telemedicine visit. I jumped at the opportunity. Stay well MSers.
My daughters dentist appointment was cancelled. I did not plan on taking her anyway. My ms specialist is doing remote tele visits.
I have my Tysabri infusion scheduled beginning of April, and just messaged my dr about it to see if I should post pone it but she wanted me to keep it.
I received phone calls for my son's doctors office and mines for our appointments being changed until further notice. His dentist said that he can still come in but he has to clean his mouth out with peroxide before they can change his braces.
I had contacted my neuro just before my infusion date. I inquired about whether it’s a good idea to wait a little while considering pandemic. He agreed. O was scheduled for March 18...postponed ‘til mid-April. I’m okay with that..🤔
