Purple stars

I still have to quilt it, but I finally finished the top for a quilt I’ll be giving my husband’s assistant. She’s a loyal worker who has to deal with two bosses, so I wanted to reward her with something special. She loves purple! It has nearly 2000 pieces, so I thought I’d never get it done. Every day I can still quilt feels like a victory!

Awesome job as usual Erin. It reminds me of the days when my Mother quilted when I was young. You brought back some wonderful memories.

Thanks.

I wish I could have met your mom and have seen her quilts. She raised a great son!

I remember when I was a kid that all the ladies in the neighborhood would gather for a quilting bee. They put together some awesome quilts. After heart attack she wasn’t able to quilt so that’s when she took up knitting. She was quite a woman. Took 3 heart attacks and 2 strokes to ever stop her. You would have loved her.

At times I’m not sure she would have agreed about a great son😅😂🤣. I was wild and crazy in those days but her and my dad instilled the values that made me the man I am. They showed me to let Jesus take over and quit my crazy ways. It worked cause he changed everything.

Thank you for the compliment and God bless my friend

That seems like high praise for someone who cuts fabric into pieces and sews it back together! You’re very sweet!

I’m so humbled and mystified by your kind words of encouragement when my kids couldn’t figure out what my stick figure drawing was. 🤔

My mother would love this. She would talk you into giving it to her if she knew you. She loves the color purple and if it’s not she will dye it purple. She only own things in purple. She only give gifts that are in purple. See where I’m going with this.

💜💜I have always loved purple. As a redhead, I was always told to not wear pink, red etc. but to wear greens, blues and lavender. It didn't hurt that our school colors were purple and white💜💜 Most of my closet is lavender and purple.

Since joining this group, I’ve become a fan of purple, too. My husband is a Vikings fan, so I’m in luck!

This is beautiful greaterexp Thanks so much for sharing it with us! Your husband’s assistant will love this! My great grandma used to crochet up until her early 90s when her vision was starting to get really bad and she couldn't do it anymore. One of her favorite things to do.

I hope you have some of the things she made. I know it’s just stuff, but I’m sentimental about those things. It warms me to think of these quilts warming my kids and grandkids long after I’m gone.

I do still have the one she made me. I use it in the winter when I'm at my computer if I get cold. It's not too big and not too small.

greaterexp for some reason I have missed a whole batch of posts, so I am sorry for the late reply. The quilt is absolutely gorgeous. You are so gifted, but what I like most is that you share that gift with others. If I didn’t have such a beautiful quilt, I would be coveting this one! Well done, Blessings Jimeka 🤗 🍫

greaterexp the purple stars quilt is outstanding! Such a fabulous gift. I wish I thought I would have the patience. I'm going to make a quilt of 14" squares from all my bicycling t-shirts. I bought a queen size duvet in black & hope to use it for the quilt.

You’ll do fine. I would research t-shirt quilts before starting so you’re happy with the results. Be sure to post a picture of the finished project!
