Royces newbie guide part 4 of ?

My name is Royce, I have Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis. I have enjoyed this experience for 20 years, and my goal is to provide YOU, the newbie, with the type of help that I wish I had of had back in the day. Understand that I am not a DR a Therapist a writer or any other type of professional, I am just an ms lifer.

All CAPS do not mean I am yelling at YOU, merely that I am trying to make a point, and have not worked out how to tell YOU, that this is important.

I will tell YOU personal things about myself and people I have met in my ms travels, so please do not be shocked this is normally just to make a point, and to let YOU know that I have been where YOU are. Still am in reality, so let's get started.

Wow, it must have been the weekend off, normally I am not quite this prolific in my writings. Maybe the moon is in Aquarius, hope I got the song right, oh well on we go.

I never actually thought that I would admit this, but I like exercising. Tes there are pretty young girls\women\ladies at the gym but I really am too old and lazy to do any more than just glance admiringly in passing. Is that sad or maturity? No, I think it is sad, but I really do not care that much. If it was not that "she who must be obeyed" won't let me buy any more gym equipment and that the small amount of social interaction was important I would just as well stay home.

YOU have to exercise. It is good, mentally, physically, emotionally and gives YOU a sense of achievement. Just because, I do my exercises in sets of eleven. If I am feeling really good I might try twelve. Why, because I can. I remember a time when I could barely do ONE. But now, it feels good to have accomplished something. I feel better stronger and have a little piece of gold for my ms achievement vault. I am getting richer by the day, which is important because at 3 am when I feel my world is collapsing. I have a CAN DO memory to hold onto. Exercisewise I always suggest core exercises they help you stand straight and control movement and other good things. Besides a good looking core reminds YoOU that YOU are still an attractive human being.

Now YOU are starting to understand why YOU need to exercise, let's look at your diet.

ms will not kill YOU mostly, but a heart attack or stroke might. Follow as best YOU can a heart-healthy diet, the American Heart Association comes to mind, if YOU are really good a SWANK or Okinawan diet may be right for you. Just be careful with your money, eat a healthy diet, but do it in such a way that YOU can stick with it for the long term.

Eat clean and exercise,

Royce

I agree, Royce! Exercise has been so important for me too (I never exercised regularly before 8 years ago or so...I’ve had Ms for 22 years...wish I would have worked the exercise in sooner). I (my legs) benefit from using an elliptical and step machine.

Efoughr about getting an elliptical but I will never get away with it, I actually really used to like my old rowing machine.

I go to planet fitness. Wouldn’t buy an elliptical for my home. Probably wouldn’t use it at home. I benefit from seeing other people
