make sure you have less than $2000 in your bank account because you can be denied if you have more than that in your account. They check for every bank account your name is on. If you have a joint account they split the amount between you and the account holder whose name is on it as well

be sure to empty out any funds that may push you over before your appointment

Yes, although they will look back at account data in all accounts starting from the application date, so a last minute cleanout could raise a red flag and invite extra scrutiny.

If she does SSI they will tell you to get rid of it before you are approved. SSDI it doesn't matter

Best of luck to you! Fyi, you may want to edit your post title to say SSDI - SSI is a separate and different program. Hope your hearing goes well - I was fortunate in not having to use a lawyer or have a hearing. It helps if you haven’t been working in awhile and have plenty of supportive medical documentation. I will be praying for you. I was so fortunate with mine. I hired an attorney. The judge took one look at me, my records and said he had never seen a more obvious qualifier for disability. I had my first check in two weeks. That man was magic! Hoping the same for you. Love, Kelly

SSDI does not figure in your savings account or checking. Savings are fine and investments. It’s your degree of disability that they look at and future ability to work. My brothers wife just went on disability and he is very well off. He makes big money 💰. It was based on her disability and what she had paid in. You’re Doctor report is the BIG fracture 👍🙏🐾😉Ken

Depends if she is going on SSDI doesn't matter SSI it does look all accounts
