Have you seen my poppies?

I really debated about posting this, because I usually don't call attention to my work. I am always amazed when someone likes my art. If you received an MSAA letter recently with a 2025 Member card in it, that's my painting on the card. When the letter came, my husband thought it was junk mail and was going to shred it! Yikes! Thank goodness he didn't! I was so surprised to see my poppies on it!

Because my high school art teacher told me I didn't have any talent, so I put my pens and paints away and didn't pick them up again for almost 50 years. I just picked up the paints again 4 years ago.

My mom's piano teacher in grade school would beat her hands with a ruler when she hit a wrong note. Not a light tap. either.

She was about 8 at the time and the nun of course was much older and never had to answer for her abuse (_(while still walking this earth, of course)

Oh, that's lovely! Don't hide your light under a bushel! I know that it's hard to believe and accept someone like your work. It's a piece of yourself. That can be scary. You need to understand that you are wonderful with wonderful gifts. Please share.

I hope this isn't inappropriate to share, but I called MSAA today because I made a small donation to them, but for some reason, the receipt came in my husband's name.

I asked about the card, and I was told that the donation threshold to get the card was $100, just FYI. 😊
