It's been some time since I've been on. During my absence I've experienced some unfortunate changes. I feel like I don't recognize my body anymore.
I've been on Aubagio for almost 3 months now. Ever since I started it I've experienced some food sensitivity..specifically towards fruits. I now have [new] issues with pineapple, tomatoes, and avocados. I developed the sensitivity to avocados the FIRST day I started taking Aubagio. I never had issues with these fruits before starting the medication. I don't feel like it has something to do with acidity because avocados are not acidic! They are super healthy & I read that it's anti-inflammatory which is what I need! So I'm just confused on what's going on. π€ Scrambled eggs with cooked tomatoes and raw tomatoes. Severe pain. I recently ate sushi with avocado. No pain. Turkey wrap with diced tomatoes inside. No pain either. I'm so confusedπ€
I'm also taking a immune supplement that I started taking way BEFORE the MS medication. Never had problems with it. I started experimenting to see if it counteracted with my med. I'm still experimenting but I don't see how it would counteract. It's a natural supplement. I haven't taken it in a few days but still experiencing pains.
I went to a follow up appt with my neurologist. He said that MS doesn't cause food sensitivity and the medication wouldn't cause food sensitivity. Lets be honest, anyone can react differently to medications. So my question to you all is..have you experienced food sensitivity prior to starting MS medication and/or with taking MS medication? I just don't understand what's going on. I eat healthy.
Also..what is the MS hug? What does it feel like? ..And I apologize for the length of this post ha.
