As Kenu mentioned above, call MSAA at the number he provided above. I had MS since high school but went undx till 2007 when I was 48. We all start our "New" journey at different ages. sorry for your dx but you found a great site.
Hello yashar, it's Fancy1959. First I want to welcome you to the US of A. I'm glad you decided to join our chat room and our nation at the same time. I feel woefully inadequate to talk to you about insurance as I am not any type of insurance broker. Perhaps the best place to start would be to find a insurance broker and talk to them about your circumstances and see what advice they can offer you as to you signing up for better insurance. We would all love to have insurance that is free of charge for MS but due to all the regulations out there today,it is incredibly difficult to find. If you find anything that covers everything please share it with the rest of the chat room as many people would be interested in finding out about it. This chat room is a safe place to come and ask questions, voice concerns, and simply speak to others who truly understand what you are going through. We have caring, compassionate, and kind people here who all have positive attitudes and will help you were ever possible and provide common experiences about their Journey was there fight against MS. I'm glad you have found us and if you want someone to talk to about this dreaded disease please don't hesitate to contact us. Until we speak again please take care of yourself. I hope you enjoy your new Homeland the United States of America. Please remember that together we are stronger in this fight against MS!
Yes, health insurance in the US is terrible! We live on my husband's paycheck and mine pays for insurance. Horrible! Many of the MS meds can be paid for by different agencies. I'm on Aubagio which is paid for by MS One-to-One. Thank heavens as this med is over $6300 a month! Why don't you post what medicine you are on and those who are on the same may be able to tell you who helps them.
