I am really overwhelmed with all this cold, snow & freezing temperatures. But we are surviving my sister Carol is here with me physically & I know all of my MS'ers friends are too.
Bill had a metal roof put on after the tornado a few years ago. well after all the snow slide down the roof it took the gutters too. Then we have been thru frozen drains in the kitchen sink which turned out to be frozen ground. So we washed our dishes in the bath tub for 3 weeks. I thought the drain was clogged & gave it a dose of drain cleaner! That ate the plumbers putty that was holding the drainage hose. Long story short I finally called the guy that helped my husband remodel our kitchen & the drain under the sink. I told him that I was moving in with him with my sister & our cat! He was at my house the next afternoon. The next day he was there with the stuff to fix the problem. I am hoping nothing else expensive happens.

Oh, boy. You've certainly had your hands full. I'll keep my fingers crossed that the weather warms up soon. I'm having issues with my cellar pipes but don't want to call a plumber.
I'm going to remember your idea the next time some workman is reluctant to take on another one of my small projects! "Come connect my TV to the system or I'm moving in with you!" I'm glad Amore gave you a nudge and glad as well that you emerged from under a snowbank to say hello. It has been a bitter winter. If we've had a day above freezing since Christmas, I must have missed it. I too had a frozen drain line that left a puddle on the basement floor, my sister in Missouri had your problem with her kitchen sink drain, so you have a lot of fellow sufferers. It's so good to hear your voice on the forum again.
Good to hear a public post! It really has been a frigid winter. Just think about how wonderful spring will be when it arrives! Daffodils, tulips, and all of the other good things that come with it!
Reminds me of when we bought our first house in 1978. We were there Sat cleaning up and getting ready to move in near the end of January. Went home to our apartment for the night. During the night, it went down to about zero with a very strong west wind, which froze and broke the water pipe feeding the upstairs toilet, which was directly over the front door. We came over Sunday morning to find 6 iunches of ice covering the front door, all the drywall in the front hallway soggy, and about 10 iunches of water in the basement. Welcome to home ownership!
