Finally got mri results. NO NEW LESIONS. Hallelujah. Praise God.

This was awesome news after all the trouble I went thru getting them. So I guess the Plegridy is doing it’s job.

I think I hurt his feelings when I asked him for his definition of a relapse. After his response I asked if that didn’t seem like what’s been happening to me for the last two months. He said that the balance and fatigue had been coming and going. I told him that it came but only got worse over the last 2 months and I was tired of feeling this bad if something would help. He says well we could try some iv steroids. Couldn’t we have tried this in dec. But he finally ordered a three day steroid treatment but don’t think he was so happy😡😅😅. He might be right but I’m sure ready to try. It’s hard having my old GTO in the garage and hardly able to walk that far to look at it.🤪🤪.

But 3 day iv steroids double cymbalta to 60 mg and double amantadine to 200 mg. So I guess I’ll see how it goes this month.

My only problem is that he wants to blame fatigueon the fact I don’t wear my cpap machine long enough to get rested. He’s also my sleep dr.🤗

But shouldn’t be anymore MRIs for awhile.

Yay! So happy for you!!!

I tried amantadine for fatigue and it was an epic fail. The only thing that has ever worked for me is Nuvigil. I dont take it all the time so i dont build up a tolerance to it but it is a total God send when i need it

I already take amantadine 100 mg and modafinil 200 mg so he just raised the amantadine 100mg. But like you I can’t tell any difference when taking it.

Armodaflinil is the generic of nuvigil. Modafinil is provigil. I have done so much reading on both as they r made by same pharma company. The nuvigil is an improvement (so they say) on the provigil. It effects different areas of the brain so in my mind - so not a doc here - but i wud think it wud depend on where ur lesions are as to what wud be more helpful? I dunno. Thats always been my thot on it.

Hope this helps!

Doubled51 Donnie - Great news! If you get improvement from the steroids - make sure to contact him so it gets documented so you hopefully don’t have to go thru all this crap again. Sounds like confronting your dr. face to face from now on is the way to go. Have a wonderful day!! -Kris

Thanks kris. If that’s what it takes so be it. He even ordered in home steroid treatment. I’m under strict orders to let him know if they help.

Have a blessed day

Great News 👍. When I did the steroids infusion it took about seven to ten days to notice , it did help 👍 I did have it three days into having problems 🤷🏼‍♂️ You may need to tell him it works either way so he will do it sooner🤷🏼‍♂️. Hope you see results soon 👌👍🙏🐾🐩Ken

I def would have preferred having it 3 days in rather than 3 months.😂

Yeah I think it’s gonna help one way or the other.😂😅😉😉

Thanks Erin. I feels good to have him listen for a change even if I did have to pry some information out of him. And at least try something. If they don’t work at least we tried.

What wonderful news! Thanks for letting us know the results of your MRI! And good for sticking to your guns! Only YOU know how you are feeling, and it's up to the doc to listen!

Thank you. I would never have made it in that machine for 4 hrs without sedation.

Yay!! So glad to hear this. So happy for you. We like hearing good news!

I've only had one significant relapse since my initial diagnosis that required a week of steroids. I felt like a million dollars while taking them.

I was like the old commercial with the ever ready bunny. Only slept a couple of hours at night I was so revved up. Wallpapered my son’s bedroom one time and another time on steroids I painted a bathroom! And then I crashed..... ask to be tapered off with orals. That helps a lot.

Great news! Very happy for you! Next time you might ask him about a low RX for LDN- Low dose Naltrexone. Since I started it back it October, my energy level is fantastic. I still slow down late afternoon, but I am doing so much better with less fatigue, more energy, and more Alertness! Research it first, but I think it's made big difference. Lynn

This should help get your research started. lowdosenaltrexone.org/

Thanks Lynn. I’m def happy. If I can get some energy I can probably put up with the rest. I’ll check it out.

Hi CalfeeChick there is a pharmacy in Glasgow Scotland who apparently deals with LDN I'm very curious about it and whether it would help myself 😊😊😊😊

CalfeeChick profile image
CalfeeChickCommunityAmbassador in reply tojanetb1968

be sure to research Pharmacy and LDN. It has to be compounded,(made to Dr's RX) Costs can vary. I take 4.5mg every morning with a full bottle of water, then wait 45 minutes or more for it to absorb. Then coffee and begin other meds. I truly believe in the stuff and because I'm older, 69- will be 70 in May. I'm willing to continue being as active as I can. I do still tend to overdo and am very fatigued by late afternoon and my balance is wonky by then too. Fortunately, hubby keeps a close watch on me and reminds me to slow down, rest.

Great news Doubled51! Not sure what it is with some doctors not wanting to give the steroids. But I tell u for me it makes me feel better when giving through IV. I know it’s a temporary feeling. But it sure feels great! Good luck with it!

Praying for best results for you 🙏.

Doubled51 great news. I've been off the computer due to doing too much around the house and recovery took longer than I anticipated. I have had to use a cpap for the last 12 years so I can relate. I wear it all the time when I lay down, even if I don't sleep. Be good to yourself. ~terry

Doubled51 in reply toMS_Indestructible

Glad to see you back. Dr wants me to wear my cpap even when I can’t sleep but it gets hard after lying there for a couple of hours and can’t get to sleep. But if it makes him happy.😁😁
