I want to get off of my 10 mg Prednisone that I have taken for several years and was searching the web for an alternative. Turmeric keeps popping up with several studies related to MS. Has anyone used turmeric to help with MS? Erash, you are always good for info - what do you know?

I use Flonase at am and pm and albureral for times of hard breathing because my breathing is not 24/7 a bad problem. Sometimes I need it though and sometimes it helps what they call my COPD. When it does not help, I think most of the time it is the hug. I don’t like taking Prednisolone or steroids either but it an excepted and necessary treatment. I live in WV and the air is often humid. Nobody can diagnose what your needs are but a good doctor. After I got several late diagnoses, I did not take to the shots as well as others. I thought Copaxone would kill me. Now that I am older I can not even find a an MS doctor to help me. My last neuro threatened me if I did not take Tysabri. I am told by several different doctors in the area that there are NO good MS doctors in the area where WVU is, except the one that has taken many patients who other doctors left behind. They do not like alternative treatments or I have not found them them yet. I am without help except for my eyes but even they are hesitant to mention the MS now that they have done they could.

concernibg Tumeric - I take it and it is a top alternative for inflammation. I have so much bone pain, and it may be helping.. It will not take the place of a steroid that I have seen, anywhere but it may have the ability to lesson the need since MS causes inflammation and inflammation causes damage. and it will not be good for anyone to advise you not knowing your whole issues. I don’t think a spice would hurt you but you doc may know different concerning it’s interaction with your other meds and the type of need for your specific condition. If you are gonna google these type of important issues, I hope you are using scholar google and looking at the author and noting the citations

I added turmeric and Ginger root Capsules to my diet years ago for their anti-Inflammatory properties for my arthritis. I think it helps. I first tried making a tea of turmeric and fresh ginger root, boiling then straining. Very spicy hot, always had to add allot of honey to make it drinkable, that's why I switched to the convenience of the capsules. I spread out my vitamins, medications, supplements during the day and drink allot of water when I take any of them to help increase absorption into the system. Hope that helps! :-)
