MS and Marijuana
Hi kerry0915 I guess the 1st question is, is it legal in your state? 😀 I live in N.Y. St they say it's legal by prescription. But the hoops you have to jump through are impossible and they make it that way!😡
The last time my Neuro botched at me for meds, I told him to prescribe it to me😄 it didn't happen.😒 Would it help, yes. How I know? Well that's another story!😉😄

I live in a medical marijuana state and have my card. I use it once a day about 2 hours before bedtime. It helps stop the spasms that would wake me or my wife in the night. I don't use it during the day. I tried a tincture first but it didn't help. One hit is all I need and I tried several strains to see what worked best for me. Wishing and praying for the best for you.
Medical marijuana is available where I live; tried tincture, but it does nothing! I don’t want to smoke, so I have to figure out what to take!
I've been on opioids for a number of years. My last appointment with my neuro I asked about something other than the opiods and she recommended dronabinol. I don't like to smoke either. This is an excellent alternative. It lasts longer than the opiods and medicare pays for it. I've included some info below. It is also known as the marijuana pill. Should be legal in all 50 states, but that's my opinion.
Generic name: Dronabinol - Oral
Pronunciation: (dro-NAB-in-all)
Brand name(s): Marinol
Dronabinol is used to treat nausea and vomiting caused by cancer chemotherapy. It is usually used when other drugs to control nausea and vomiting have not been successful. Dronabinol is also used to treat loss of appetite and weight loss in patients with HIV infection. Dronabinol (also called THC) is a man-made form of the active natural substance in marijuana.
Hello I live in MICH and have my card it helps with with my spacticity.
I have a friend who has severe RA. Marijuana is a blessing for her. But, always a but right! She was drug tested like everyone who is on pain meds are and her doctor now must deny her pain medications. She says given an option she would take marijuana over opioids. So just a heads up to people out there. She is not in a state that has the MML. The other issue is having or purchasing a fire arm!
I actually have progressive MS and I smoke really good quality marijuana and yes it helps a LOT!! I have my medical marijuana card and I get medical marijuana delivered on Tuesday!! I'm excited to see if it helps!! I will definitely post my opinion of if it helps me!! I'm getting 3 types of marijuana . One for anxiety and one for chronic pain and one for bedtime. I will be in touch!!
