Chest X ray.

Any ideas why my neurologist might have sent me for chest x ray. I am waiting for MRI and she took tuns of blood and sent me to respiritary to check I am breathing OK at night. Slept with monitor for a couple of nights and now find my self given appointment for chest x ray. Contacted respiritary who denied all knowledge and said it was my neurologist. Unable to find out why. I have had chest pains recently but dont think I told neurologist about this. I get the impression she is sending for for every possible medical test within her power.Worried a bit incase something nasty has come up in blood test.

Hidden my neurologist sent me for a chest X-ray about 18 months ago. I don't remember why. I thought it was weird. I do what he asks cuz he orders my DMT and I'm doing a lot better on it than I was doing.

Gosh. I would think if she ordered it she would have given you some idea of why.

Which DMT are you on and are you planning to start anything new?

A CXR isn’t especially diagnostic, IMO, so if you’re not having respiratory symptoms, I was wondering if she might just be screening you for something?

Have you had any edema/swelling?

Hidden you should probably tell someone about the chest pains and ask the neuro what they're looking for?

Wishing you the best!

Hidden , are. you still in the diagnostic stage? Meds are metabolized and excreted by either the lungs kidneys or liver. Perhaps the doc is making sure your lungs are clear and strong enough to handle a DMT. But I am certainly not a medical doctor and I think the best course for you is simply to ask why the Dr wanted the x-rays. And you must consult a dr right away re; chest pain. Maybe you did tell your neuro about it and you just can't remember. But get medical attention immediately for the chest pain. Could be anything from GERD to cardiac issues

Good luck!

Thanks Suzie,

I was admitted to hospital over night with chest pain and blood tested for cardiac. I stuggle with letters together than mean something so am wondering what DMT is. I will chase doc again tommorow.

Hidden , if you haven't had a chest Xray recently, your neuro might have thought it would be a good idea to get one, just to cover all the bases. Some doctors like to leave no stone unturned. I've heard that this is often to protect themselves but a case can be made for making sure you don't have some hidden disorder lurking somewhere.

Not what you're looking for?
