Hi all,

I just had my first accupuncture appointment today! For the first time, I feel almost "normal" again. The pain in my right foot and right shoulder are gone, and I feel completely relaxed! Has anyone else tried this?

suzy20 , I'm tickled pink it worked so well for you! I've heard wonderful things about it. When done well, it can work well. I've never needed it, but am open to it if the need arises. Thanks for posting about your experience.

hi suzy. I've had a couple treatments. they were totally awesome experiences. kind of a combination of the needles and massage touching some painful spots I didn't even recognize that I had.i don't know yet about any lasting effects. the practitioner is very busy and can only get appt every two weeks. think it probably needs to be more often

?Did it hurt Suzy?Did you have to prepare for doing it?Did they burn stuff at the end of it?was there anything you needed to do once you got home after the treatment?what is certificate title of person with a degree? Thank you for m silly questions....Keep feeling better!

jackiesj Good question! It did not hurt, and believe me I am a total wimp when it comes to pain! The needles she used were tiny, I couldn't even tell where a bunch of them were. She put them on my toes, feet, calves, head and earlobes. In Chinese medicine , they check multiple pulses to determine placement of the needles. As I laid there for 30 minutes, she would come in and again check the pulses and move some of the needles. Honestly it was so relaxing that I almost fell asleep. She has her medical degree from the US, but she grew up in Hong Kong atound acupuncture ; she ultimately returned there after med school to officially study it there. Be careful when you go that the person has proper Eastern training because many acupuncturists purport to be authentic but there are many who are a sham. She did not use any heat or vibration with the needles. All my cog fog lifted was immediately after and the pain on my right side was significantly better. I felt extremely relaxed- as if I had received a massage. However , it's been a week and the benefits have just about worn off so I am going again tomorrow. I'll keep you posted!

jackiesj After the treatment she gave me some herbal tea and told me to drink a lot of water. I slept incredibly that night! She told me that there was so much heat in my body that my energy had been blocked causing blood flow deficiency also. I have no idea what that means and that it sounds nuts, but when she took the needles out of the crown of my head it felt like I released a huge amount of heat from my head. 😌

@suzy20 👋🏼 Hi again, I am wondering how your subsequent visits with the acupuncturist have gone? Have you received additional benefit? I am curious to know also whether the acupuncturist recommends that you do anything differently (besides drinking water) between visits to help you “release heat?“ Thank you very much for your informative post! I’m so happy for you that you are receiving these benefits! :-)

Nom_De_Plume I have been continued acupuncture for about 5 weeks. I feel like it has relieved pain, and helped my body to remember how to truly relax. I like it A LOT! Eating more plant based proteins, fruits and vegetables and alkanine water and feeling better😊
