First Ocrevus infusion under my belt. A few hiccups, like four tries on the IV and my blood pressure dropping, but all in all, I think I can do this. Thanks everyone for your support. So glad I found you guys!

I know how you feel. I think the unknown is scary, but you'll be fine. They will keep close watch on you during your infusion, and virtually any side effect you might experience (none, I hope!), they have something to counteract it. Praying for a good experience for you.

So glad to hear that for the most part it was good. Sounds like all of these infusions centers are very educated on this medication. Keep us posted.

I still cringe at the thought of 4 IV sticks, Debs5997 , but I am relieved all went well in the end. Rest these next couple of days. Will continue to pray the drug helps you in the long run. πŸ’•

Congratulations, Debs5997 , I hope you will respond great to Ocrevus. I started in June and also had some infusion "hiccups." Be aware that it is supposed to take a good while before effect can be gauged, I am focused on staying positive and patient. I will say that I seem to be less fatigued and just less "ill" overall, but at this (early) point I am still having considerable variability day to day. Good luck and keep us posted. :-)

Thanks for keeping us updated, dianekjs . With many here starting Ocrevus soon, it's great to hear how you and other 'veterans' of the new drug are faring while on it. Praying, with time, it provides great hope and meets and exceeds expectations. πŸ’•

Are you going to be starting Ocrevus, WAshingtongirl ?

WAshingtongirl profile image
WAshingtongirlβ€’ in reply todianekjs

No, dianekjs , I'm not. With my other autoimmune diseases, rituxan was considered, but I am on Imuran instead. I believe you took rituxan prior to Ocrevus? Anyway, I am encouraged by all you and others have shared here...the good, the bad, and the hope. πŸ’•

WAshingtongirl , I wasn't on Rituxan, but it was considered along with Ocrevus as they are very similar and Rituxan is used to treat connective tissue diseases, which I also have. My doctors said that they would expect Ocrevus to be "at least" as effective as Rituxan for both conditions, so let's hope!

Not surprised I messed that up! πŸ™„ I'm blaming it on MS. πŸ˜‰ And yes, from what I've heard, and was explained to me, Ocrevus is the 'new' Rituxan. I hope you reap the benefits of it for your various conditions!
