I've had a trip to NY to visit my daughter planned for months. Originally, I was going to go on the trip and then start looking for a new place to call home. I sold my house last fall and have been staying with family while I transition away from full-time employment. Well...the craziness of the sellers real estate market around here made me panic that if I waited too long to find something, I could get priced out.
I started looking and a month ago found a condo that I thought could work. I only had to compete with 2 other offers so I consider myself lucky! Escrow closed yesterday and Friday I leave for NY. Then when I get back, there is work to be done at the condo before I can move in and I also have to pack up the stuff I have where I've been staying.
I only have myself to blame for the timing of all of this but I'm optimistic it will be worth it. It will be great to have my own home again.
This is the view I'll have....and the best part is that I don't have to maintain any of it!

I really should read what I write before I press the reply button, maybe it's me or predictive text, but it should say that I hope the move proves GOOD for you, sorry. Blessings Jimeka π¦ π
I sure hope you don't have to stand on your head to enjoy that breathtaking view, Raingrrl . π Some of my photos here have posted sideways. I've figured out how to turn them around on my phone before posting them, but I'm not sure I'd know how to instruct you to do so.
Congrats again on your new home. I know you love your family, but it will be great to move into your own place again.
And enjoy NY and your visit with your daughter. You have SO much going on. Please take care. Watch the heat and stress--and upon your return, rest before jumping into remodel stuff and unpacking.
Aww Raingrrl , timing sure is everything. It's the reason I'm living in an apartment for 5 weeks while they finish the new house. Oh well, at least the old house sold fast and for the very first time we made an actual profit on our home! Love the awesome view! Enjoy your daughter and NY. Rest when needed and stay well!
I hope you have a ball during your visit! Enjoy your new home! You've accomplished so much already, so I hope you can take your time getting your new place ready.
