Experienced fall #4. Got up in the. MIdle of the night to go to the bathroom, and upon returning, I tripped over the boxes of Hopper Bopper's food, fell, cussed, and scrambled to get back up.
My partner came in to see if I was OK. I told him I'd tripped over his boxes.
Oh, no, it wasn't his boxes of cat food. He thinks I've had a stroke, or somethings wrong with my brain, does he need to call 911, because I was confused and not making any sense when I was talking.
Then I went to the bathroom. Again Friday evening, but for whatever reason, my legs were so weak, I couldn't stand up from the toilet. My partner tried to help but he could barely move at all because of his breathing problems.
My partner called his sister to come help (could it get anymore embarassing?)
With the help of two people, I was finally raised to my feet.
I the. Slept all weekend.

I will see my new primary care (the new healthcare system) next Tuesday. I think I've got a better shot their, than with the phantom neurologist. Why is it when I really need all my doctors who knew me and my case, they are all gone and I'm facing all new doctors? ::sigh::
I don't know but it seems like it's so hard to find a good dr or one that sticks around. I had neuros that seemed to have a neuro that I either didn't like or they would move away every year or two for a while And now there is a pandemic to make it worse for people.
It could be worse. No surgery needed, but 12 weeks in a clunky ol' boot. Elevate it, the doc says. I can elevate or work - but not both. π C'est la vie. Thank you for asking! π
Thank you. It's something we live with, right? (falls?) Battling this monster is still a new thing for me. Diagnosed just 13 months ago. But thank you for your concern!
oh my don't they know not to have things in the way of you going to the toilet to fall over....so sorry about it ...take care and make sure things are put in the correct and safe place so you don't fall ...take care and be safe ...love and happiness ...
A bed side commode might be advantageous. Don't worry, it is not a big deal. Easy to clean if you place the paper products in small plastic bag lined garbage can.
Oh, I actually already ha e one of those. My partner broke it apart to create the "shower chair" I was told by Dr's when I got out of the hospital, and was told shower chairs were next to impossible to find in New Mexico. Now I'm having to use my @#=$*&Γ·@&'n despised walker when I go to the bathroom. Though I'm using that f'n walker to move around downstairs. ;P
humiliation is tiring so i understand the extra sleep. I hope you are feeling better. Did anything precipitate the weakness in your legs? i had that experience in the bathroom after vax.
No explanation yet for the legnweakness, but I DID get a possible explanation for some other very recent illness sysmptoms: I had been shivering, teeth chattering, and just couldn't get warm! My partner swore I had COVID19! I didn't. When I went in last week for ALL the various tests I needed to do before my new primary care sees me Tuesday.
A UTI was detected!
I kinda argued (just like I did when I had an UTI when I was in the hospital in 2018.) But when she said, "have you felt feverish?"
omgoodness! I trip over dust! I cannot imagine this! Healing energy being sent! Definitely call your neuro.. might be something going on especially with the leg weakness
I see my new primary care next week. Tuesday, I went to the clinic to do blood test, meet test, some weird kind of blood flow test, EKG, breathing test, and the primary care will go over all the results with me when I see him next week Though a nurse called me last night to tell me they detected an UTI with the pee sample. We will see how next week goes.
No, fortunately. When I was in the hospital back in 2018, I was being Catherine every day, multiple times a day. And yeah, I developed a UTI, then, too (and don't ever blame nurses and techs for it ::groan:: Fortunately when I was released from the hospital, I'd been proscribed Bethanochol to help empty my bladder.
Don't know where this UTI came from, but UTIs have been part of my MS life for 26 years. Oh, joy!
