...But that doesn't mean we can't find ONE thing each day to be thankful for, no matter how hard or bad a day we've had.
Today I am thankful for my youngest granddaughter, Emma. Today is her 6th birthday. What a joy she is! π

I'm thankful for the breeze in my hair this morning, really! It felt freeing
Happy Birthday Emma!
Today, I am thankful to be a part of this group. It's been a relief to share and receive your encouragements and support.π
Hope Emma has a good birthday and gets spoilt. I am thankful for my grandsons, one has just made me an anniversary card with a word search in it, what a blessing, Jimeka
Wow, now I'm thinking of all my blessings.. I'm glad that if I had to have MS, I wasn't DX until 68 yrs old, I been loved, have kids and grandchildren, have done allot on my life that fills my memory. Golly, how many can say they've ridden a bicycle down the coast of California 8 times? I am blessed!!
You are blessed Lynn, all the time I lived in Canada I would have liked to have visited California but never did. Now it's too late, so consider yourself well and truly blessed. 8 times, wow π³ π
Wow! Lynn. That's quite a coastline to drive. Biking it must have been amazing.
In 2001 I ran the Big Sur Marathon (my favorite race). Alone (others running but not a crowded race) on the road was so peaceful and def. man (woman) versus environment.
What's your favorite and longest ride CalfeeChick ?
Wow, you could of been running next to my husband. He ran that a few times. Favorite and longest ride? There are so many. I suppose the favorite would be one called Tour of Napa Valley. One day ride over 100 miles with 5,000' of climbing. My absolute favorite is my coastal ride which is 360 miles in 6 days. Charity group, support carrying our gear, We just had to ride, set up tent and take down. Support provided cooked breakfast and dinner, lunch stop and 2 rest stops during the ride day. I was scheduled to ride this year, but went numb 2 weeks before start of ride. I'm still involved with group on limited basis, not riding, but other assistance.
I couldn't have done what you did, CalfeeChick , but I can see how you would miss not being able to continue to ride. Happy you can still serve the charity in another capacity.
Napa is my oldest son's favorite area in CA. π
Lynn, you're a tough woman (360mi in 6days! Wow! Awesome! Amazing! ...and saddle sores π)
Sounds like you might live in that area. By the time I ran the Big Sur marathon, I was living in Florida but I lived in the Monterey area for a few yrs. and then later in Orange County, Calif.
I hope you get to ride again soonπ
My goal is to ride again. Saddle sores??!!! Have had more than my fair share, but with consistent training, you get beyond them and don't get them anymore! We live near Sacramento, but as with all athletic adventures, we get around. The Big Sur area is so spectacular, it's hard to focus on riding the bike!
CalfeeChick callouses? And I could imagine myself riding my bike right off the edge of the PCH While taking in that scenery π¬
You WILL ride again!
Thanks for the replies. I will pass along your birthday wishes to Emma.
Happy we all found something to be thankful for today. π
