Mine are my 2 reason to rest, stay intune to my body, and it's less lonely when fatigue sets in! They cover different shifts, one serves as my "day nurse" the other my "night nurse" as my boyfriend and I call them. I'm never alone! Even when I take a bath one has to supervise as lifeguard, & when cooking as a sous chef.

My two kitties are my guardians (supervisors), too. I had a fall getting out of the tub about a year ago and, much to my husband's amusement, both cats now sit in the bathroom waiting for me to get out of the shower. They don't budge until I start getting dressed. Millie is beautiful!

Oops, sorry! I thought Millie was a dog! Not sure if cats can be certified as therapy animals, but I don't see why not!
