Skin cancer on ear.

Has anyone dealt with skin cancer on their ear? I believe I have it and of course I have scheduled a doctors appointment. Just curious if it is a simple thing to get rid of. What I have is a sore spot that will not heal on the rim of top of ear. I can’t sleep on it due to pain.

It may not be cancer, it could be any of 20 different things, let’s see what the doctor says. In any case you’ll need a biopsy to confirm.

I had this a few years ago. It didn't heal itself. My doctor diagnosed it as a pre-malignant 'skin damage' caused by the sun's rays. He prescribed Efudix cream which, over several weeks, gradually destroyed the 'crusty' skin cells, until it got down to 'normal' cells, which bled a little at that point, but treatment was no longer necessary. It was diagnosed as a potential cancer, but one that is easily dealt with.

He also recommended wearing a sun hat to prevent future skin damage.

My ears have burned, peeled, bled and even wintertime has done the same (not as much). My derm has been.watching this for 6 or 7 years. No cancer ever found. She recommended lotion and hat to cover ears for protection. Hope your ears will be just fine. I have had 2 melanomas taken off back and a continuous rashes in the groin that keeps coming and going that we are trying to battle. Her worries are the rashes because they go away and come back. Talking of doing a biopsy to see if it comes up with any cancer related subject. Keep us posted.🤍
