My husband was finally diagnosed with lichen planis which ive never heard of. After months of being given topical corticosteroids that did not work and being told it was severe eczema, finally they did a biopsy and confirmed. Can anyone who feels comfortable offer any info or advice or knowledge on lichen planus.

So many versions of this. I as convinced mine came from drug induced Bisoprolol and beyond building up the immune system, it is difficult to shake off. I am loathe to use more drugs such as prednisolone, and use natural things like coconut oil and avocado oil to soothe. I have given up alcohol except for the occasional sip of bubbly for celebrations - but suffer at night more then. Brush my teeth to freshen in the middle of the night sometimes. Started with top lip - tight and tender, tongue also tender - but not gums - all very peculiar. My nails have been helped to grow from taking a vet's medecine to help dogs through cancer treatment - CV 247 which has copper, manganese and sodium salicylate. I use House of Mistry natural shampoo and condition 2 in one. I cannot take too hot liquids. Could go on for a long time - took 3 years at least until I saw the head of skin dept to get a diagnosis.

I have recently had an official diagnosis of lichen planus which I get on my tongue every few months. I also think it is Bisopronol or Ramipril. Haven’t had LP for ages, but got a few weeks ago after the AZ covid jab. Anyway clearing up now but it’s been very sore. My scalp has been very itchy too so need to get something for it as constantly scratching! Not sure about CV247 - how are you getting on with that?

Hello, I was researching LDN (low dose Naltrexone) for Sjogrens and noticed that this medication is also being prescribed for Lichen Planus. I developed this after replacing some dental crowns two years ago. I suspect my LP, dry mouth and Sjogrens are all related. Please check out the LDNRESEARCHTRUST.org website, not sure about the caps. This medication has some side effects as they all do but may be minimal for many. There is also a book about Naltrexone, "The history and pharmacology of Naltrexone."I hope this helps; feel better.

I finally had a biopsy done and I do have LP. On a few meds for it but the iarea that is the most troublesome is my mouth. It’s terrible. Also had it in my vaginal Area push small red spots on my skin. Causes cab be heart meds, had a ablation in 8/2020. Now a blood test for hepatitis which is another cause. It’s a autoimmune disease.
