Hole in arm, won't heal, just gets bigger.

Anyone know what this could be!? It started as a lump, dermatologist said it was hard skin, gave me dermovate to apply daily, now I have a hole with a red area around it. My wrist really aches.

I had a biopsy on this hole and reddened area 2 weeks ago, the biopsy site has made the hole bigger. It's not healing whatsoever. I had my stitches out Friday, the nurse wasn't happy, my dermatologist seems not concerned but, then again, I've been seeing him for a year with other skin issues, yet to have any treatment that works, nor any closer to a diagnosis. FED UP!

Have you been travelling? Visited a tropical country perhaps? If so check out human botfly.

Consider a rare condition called Pyoderma Gangrenosum, it's not related to gangrene. Starts as an ulcer, tends to attack previous wound sites or surgical incision sites, will respond to medication. Sorry I can't recall the medication but a dermatologist will know. Hope this helps, good luck.

Did you get bit by a brown recluse spider? They will leave a mark like that.

Omg I have the same thing. I've been to 3 doctors and no one can tell me what it is. It does get painful at times and it looked like it healed once but then the next day the hole was much bigger. I have the hole under my arm and can I say it is a horrible spot!
