Quiet Fidgets?

I have been pulling and twisting my hair constantly more than ever as a stress response, been doing this for my whole life as far back as I can remember but it's starting to cause consistent head pain and inevitable hair loss. Are there any quiet fidgets anyone here owns that they find helps them redirect these behaviors, something I could bring to public spaces like a class and not disturb people? Recommendations greatly appreciated, I need to save my scalp.

I read that fidget toys may help manage trichotillomania, but have you tried delaying techniques?
