Hi everyone, I have self diagnosed OCD. A big part of it is that my home is my safe place where I am the most comfortable. My in laws are coming from out of town in a week and I couldn't be more stressed. We don't have room so they stay at a hotel and then spend the days at my house. They take off their shows at my request but I still worry about all the germs they are bringing from the hotel on their socks/,clothes. They don't wash their hands upon entering which makes me worry about everything they touch that's mine.

Do they know about your ocd? Can you politely, put a bottle of sanitizer. To get rid of germs 🦠 sometimes drying them in the dryer, but you don’t have this option. Sanitizer?

Using hand sanitizer in this situation will reinforce the OCD and possibly cause it to grow. It may provide temporary relief but it reinforces the fear that there is an imminent threat.
