trauma caused by ocd??

I was listening to an episode on the ocd stories where Chrissy hodges is talking about trauma that is caused by ocd. What do yall think? I've been having a rough time lately and not because of ocd. Just horrible depression and anxiety about nothing. And recently I've been having flashbacks from a rough time I went through about a year ago. (Granted part of that could be because someone from that whole situation kind of reared their head again. But I think thats over now. ) Anyway I was talking to my mom about ocd induced trauma. And she thinks that's possible. She says my experience was very traumatic. But if so how would I even go about getting therapy for that???? Anyone??!

Hi. First I would find a therapist, and from what I've read from others, it would help more to find one that deals specifically w/ OCD. I would just be honest with her/him about what you have gone through. You could ask their opinion on if they think you have OCD-induced trauma, then go from there. I'm sure there are very knowledgeable therapists that would be able to help. Good luck!

You could try working with someone trained in EMDR, to process the trauma. Then I suggest finding someone trained in ERP to evaluate you for OCD and treat as needed.

Wishing you all the best.
