This is probably something I should talk to my therapist about, but I've been with her for so long and haven't yet. It's one of the harder topics.

I, at times, have a very hard time being intimate with my partner because of my OCD. If I haven't specifically seen or heard them wash their hands before, my OCD freaks out.

Now obviously I know this is good measure for health anyway, but my OCD takes it so extreme.

Can anyone else relate?

Sometimes, if there’s something I know I need to work on in therapy, but it feels too hard to bring up, that’s exactly what I’ll say to my therapist. In this way, you can get started slowly toward that work. Like a little mini-exposure, and shine some light around the scary thing.

Definitely, definitely relate. I feel like I put a lot of pressure on myself to move past that discomfort too, and it ends up being so triggering. I have spoken about it with my partner and they have expressed that they would be happy to shower right before, but sometimes that doesn't even feel like enough.
