Intrusive thoughts and Prozac

Hi guys, I’m new here and just wondered if anyone has had any serious side effects from Prozac? I have been on them at 20mg for nearly 4 weeks and in the last few days been feeling suicidal and not myself, like a layer of crazy has been put on me. It feels like I’m on a drug if that makes sense, and my intrusive thoughts haven’t gotten better, maybe it’s just not the drug for me?

I have not had such side effects, but the minor ones I did have went away after a few weeks of taking Prozac.I have heard that suicidal thoughts are common for young people taking Prozac. So if you are young then this could be why. Either way, certainly speak to your doctor asap.

I’m 27 but I read something that triggered the suicidal thoughts I think the Prozac just made it worse, waiting on a doctors call today, thanks!

I did not face any serious side effects.best solution would be to talk to your doctor.side effects were mostly feeling foggy and felt like brain was working slowly and I was feeling fatigued all the time.i hope that you will find a medicine that will help your intrusive thoughts.i also suffer with ocd and intrusive thought...its very disturbing sometimes.

Yes it is, it can get me down sometimes but I am strong! Just wish there was a med I can take to help calm them, at least I know Prozac ain’t the one. My doctor said to do 2 more weeks and then come off if nothing has changed but I’m coming off them this week as today has been shit , again!
