Friday night and home feeling Very Very Depressed. So Much housework to do, I just keep getting behind and can’t get myself to be consistent on picking up, doing laundry and unloading and loading the dishwasher. Everyone says just do a little at a time, I can’t seem to move. I broke up with someone after 9 years a year and a half ago and there friends stayed with them. Just SO lonely. Thank God for my sister and church!!!! Does Anyone relate or have Any ideas????

Hi Blue,Do you have a job or something to do around people? Maybe join a committee or group? I’m not sure your age range but even church usually has groups yo join. It sounds like you need to socialize and believe me when I say that you’re not alone.

Yes, do a little at a time, keep pushing yourself even if it’s hard. Take a walk, enjoy nature. Do you have a pet? Can you consider one? I hope you fee better.

Our church is Just getting back to normal after Covid, there are things I could do. I’m just having SOOO Much trouble pushing myself to do things. I had a dog and lived in a house, but moved to a condo and couldn’t handle walking the dog three times a day. So my sister took her, I Severely miss her.

Our church is still affected as well. Hang in there, the pandemic has made everything more difficult. Is there another small pet you can get that doesn’t require walking? I just think it’s good to take care of something and feel needed, you can always do volunteer work … that would give you a feeling of being appreciated. I know you don’t want to do anything but please try., maybe something or someone will click but things most likely won’t change unless you make a change. Talking on here is a good start.

I am actually starting a Zoom group on November 2nd but it’s not for OCD it’s for a co existing disorder I guess you would say. I’m stressed really because my last therapist said I need to do this before I can get to my OCD. My new therapist is not trained in OCD which is very obvious. She says she’s worked with people with OCD before but on her profile it’s not listed as a specialty or as something she works with which stresses me out. But I have lived with this for SOOO Long maybe it’s good to try this group. I can always resort to my OCD book and hopefully the people on here. As for a pet, I miss my dog SOOO Much, I just couldn’t handle a new pet. I know what your saying and Totally agree.

I totally understand that. Good luck with the zoom group and the new therapist. We are always here for support too.

Hello, I know the feeling that friends are important and a necessity. But just remember that Jesus Christ is always with you and you are never alone.

God bless

Yes, but most of them work or are busy.

It's so hard to push yourself to do things when you're feeling depressed. I can totally relate to this. I've found that taking a shower and getting dressed usually gets me off to a good start & makes me feel like I've accomplished something, ha ha. I'm very sorry you lost your dog. Sounds like a really tough time. Do you go to the laundromat? Bring a good book & a hot drink so it will be a bit of a treat. If you're at home, blast some music. Mostly, be gentle with yourself--you're pushing your way through a very hard time. No point in beating yourself about it. And you're being messy, you're not cheating people or torturing them. You're not a bad person, you're a good person at a low point. Cut yourself some slack.

Wow, REALLY appreciate your comments. Makes me feel SO much better today. If I take a shower I do feel I’ve accomplished something because that and washing my hands and one more main thing are my biggest struggles. Of course other then the HUGE struggle of Anxiety and Depression. I don’t go to a laundry matt so your right music does help!! My Therapist used to say I didn’t need anyone being hard on me because I was hard enough on myself. So Thanks for the compassion and great comments!!!
